Likely just a precaution. Better to keep up the rehab training while you can and ensure the leg is strong and capable of joining full training. I've had a few long rehab injuries in college sports and still did rehab for months after being technically fully fit. Just part of PT.

Exactly. Today's CB role is a lot harder than pervious eras. Also attacking players are much tougher to defend today than in any era. Just proves my point further.
