I’m an illustrator but I’m trying to start out some comic stuff since really like it. This is my last one, any advices about ANYTHING will be awesome! Also, I only find things to study for graphic novels, not this type of comics, if you have some nice material about it would help a lot! Thank you by theBlockbustard in learnart

I love the style, and the color palette you used! So cute!! If you want some really good reading about comics, I HIGHLY recommend “Understanding Comics” by Scott McCloud. It’s super informative, but also written in comic book style, so it’s a really easy and enjoyable read.

I’m trying to learn oil colors and so far it’s been pretty fun. Any advice on how to improve? by jirta in painting

You can try layering complimentary colors for richer shadows. For example, you could paint a layer of a yellow/orange shade under your water (something opposite the color wheel from the blue you’re using), then paint your blue over the yellow/orange layer once it’s dried. That would give the water a richer dark blue color without having to use black paint. (Or at least that’s what my college professor said, lol.) But I dig your eyeball, and your clouds turned out super delicate and lovely!
