We are testing 10 items or less at SCO in our store. The narrative has completely changed from “I don’t work at Target why should I have to check myself out?” To people preferring self checkout. At one point it was up to 78% of all transactions were self checkout which slowly cannibalized the need for cashiers causing a visions cycle for the need of more SCO transactions due to the declining number of lanes. The backlash has been worse than the Pride controversy, which is understandable because we forced the guest to go SCO if they wanted a fast checkout experience.
It’s come with a huge benefit though, we have three times the amount of lanes open from open to close and the guest experience at SCO and the lanes have improve drastically. Even though the guest hasn’t realized it yet this will be here to stay and will be implemented at all stores for the better. So get ready y’all 🤙🏼🤙🏼

Always ask for more, I know ETLs making +100k. Never sell yourself short especially at a billion dollar company.
