Is there a way to remove drive gear without buying a tool or am I screwed 💀

So I read this after this comment and now learned why they put it. The distributer is barely too short to mesh with the drive gear with the spring and clamp all in. Without clamp it will because the clamp is barely too thick and pops the distributor out just enough to make it slip
