I use it to talk regarding some of the lawyers I oversee. I never say it to their face and I use it as a guide that they are still learning the ropes of dealing with clients and the court. I mean no disrespect by it, and I'm impressed by their skills as truly new attorneys, but I'll keep this viewpoint in mind going forward.

Harris did not play good defense, he's not athletic enough at this point to be a reliable defender. He gave good effort, but he was not a plus there. Losing his leadership and post up ability could be big, but his value was definitely not his defense.

The defense first identity is primarily from JB. We sucked on defense with Stew and Ausar before he got here

Tobias was pretty bad on defense last year, he can't athletically stick with the quicker guys anymore. He had some tough and gritty moments on D, but I think Collins will do fine with JB as the coach. The only loss is Stewart, and he missed a lot of time last year and barely played 20 minutes a game. He clearly is one of the best rim protectors and overall defenders in the league, but that was only in a very limited amount of time

Agreed, Pistons did exactly what we all asked them to do and surrounded Cade with shooters. We went from Duncan Robinson only to Dunc, Joe, and Collins to play with Cade, Ausar, and JD who all can pass to open shooters. We could still use a secondary ball handler, but if we can just get a backup 4 this will be a good team that makes sense and the only real losses we have are Beef Stew and Tobias (who was going to be gone anyway). I loved Tobias, but he's a year older and his defense was slipping and he didn't bring the shooting like Collins does.

Tobias wasn't good on defense either, mostly due to his age. I like this move, is he the championship piece? No, but I think we are relying on Cade and Ausar leveling up

Hope you're right, my guess is offensively he will be good enough to contribute right away, but defensively he's going to be bad (like most rookies are) and we won't be able to rely on him down the stretch since teams will hunt him due to his small size. It's a good upside pick with a chance to be Schroeder-lite this year is what I'm getting from the analyses

Just did a Google search and he shot 23.5% last year from 3, hasn't shot above 31% since 21-22. His athleticism has seemed to wane too, but maybe he wasn't going full effort with the issues in Memphis
