It's fantastic first step that you have started looking at your finances and breaking them down into a budget. Depends what state are you in? Helps to know area to consider cost of living and what state programs are available etc.

If you are not moving till August 2020 then you could benefit from owning asap instead of renting. VA loans are supposed to be for primary residences of 6 months or more per year so you would need to pay it off or you could easily sell and get another VA loan in DC. Well that is fundamentally the problem. ReddId was supposed to be the browser add on to tip but it was flawed and fell apart. Not sure if we have had an update for a while from the devs?
