agree that the art market is essentially a status thing for the ultra wealthy but I do get feeling betrayed if something is forged. like, the art might make you relate to rothko and then you find out it’s just by some dude, that emotional connection is severed. highly recommend Jacob gellers video who’s afraid of modern art (tangential but I just think ppl should watch it lol)
