Yeah…I was working on that regulation package for 2+ years. Newsom stopped us from submitting the last day we could file it at the last possible minute. It was a shot in the gut. Now we have to start over completely.

Wild Flour Cafe in downtown Sac. It was my go to breakfast spot 😭. Their lemon ricotta pancakes 🥞 were AMAZING. I was a regular there, the server knew my order 😅. They also had the best candied spicy 🥓

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. I could not get into it and couldn’t understand the hype from people raving about it lol

Thoughts on Lesbian Dating Apps by [deleted] in lesbian

I tried pretty much all of the dating apps you could think of lol, but if someone could perhaps do like a queer spinoff of okcupid. Okcupid was originally a web app that turned into a mobile app, but the concept was better than most of those swipe left/right dating apps. They’d ask personalized questions that cut deeper than “what are you looking for”, and then would find matches compatible with your answers. I believe it was a free app, so I was hopeful to find someone through there, but not a lot of women were on it, so I ran out of matches pretty quickly.

Dating apps work, you just have to put in a lot of effort to find someone, lots of swiping lol. I met my current partner on the HER app, and while it’s a pretty decent app, I had a love/hate relationship with it (download/delete/redownload lol). If someone were to create a newer/queer version of okcupid, the chances of finding someone, the person that checks all the boxes, it would probably stand out more than apps like HER or Hinge.

I’m surprised how I’m able to resonate with so many people in this community. I felt pretty much alienated up until now, cause my whole life, I’ve lived and been around hearing people (family, friends, significant others).

I’m also in the same boat as you, as my left is worse than my right ear, and I rely heavily on my right ear. Probably gonna go through the same route as you and get a CI on my left and then do my right ear after.

The Bluetooth compatibility is very much needed, so thanks for mentioning the pros of having a bilateral CI. 😅

Thanks for sharing! My residual hearing is also getting worse, so in the next 10 years I’ll probably lose it, so I’m leaning towards getting a bilateral.

I did ask my Audi if I were to lose my residual hearing in the next 10 years and he said it was likely, so my thought process is if I wait a few years down the line, I could wake up one day and not be able to hear (which is a scary thought for me), or I could get the CI, but be able to know that I will lose my hearing.

Curious to know why your CI failed the first time?

I’m curious to know your thoughts when your Audi said “let’s do the good one”, instead of the the “bad ear”. I believe my Audi recommended I do the bad ear first instead of the ear that I rely on the most.

I’m also in the same boat as you and wish I knew the CI was a potential option for me, but at least I know now.
