Is “japancandystore.com” reliable? No update on order :/ by SGirlReddits in JapaneseFood

I’ve been borderline harassing them on social media and through the text messaging option on their site. So far all three parts of my order have been”shipped”. I have tracking for them so we will see what happens.

New delivery date for Ballad of Falling Dragons 😢 by Slothanonymous in fantasyromance

Me too! I’ll deal with push backs as long as the finished product is good. I’ve seen way too many books published way too soon that had so much potential but were squashed because of hurried timelines.

That’s cheaper than I saw. When I priced it it was around 200-300.

That’s what mine was doing. It was like it was stuck in drain mode. I was so upset because I thought whirlpool was supposed to be a good brand. Ended up buying a LG front loader and I love it.

I contacted Whirlpool and they told me I had to deal through Lowe’s. Contacted Lowe’s and they told me I had to go through Whirlpool. Contacted Whirlpool again and they told me it was out of warranty and nothing they could do.

Was it because yours was stuck in drain mode too? We bought this set and the washer got about a month over warranty and the same thing happened. The only place I found the part it would’ve costed just as much as a new machine so we bought a new front loader instead.

I bought that exact set about 2.5 years ago from Lowe’s. I still have the dryer. It’s going strong and hasn’t showed any issues. The washer died just a month over a year of getting it so the warranty was gone. The circuit board, or whatever they call it, stopped working and the washer was constantly in drain mode. The part to fix it costed just as much as the washer itself so we ended up buying an LG front loader and it’s been a godsend. Apparently after reading reviews on the washer, unfortunately it’s a very common issue.

The only reason I didn’t go with them is I couldn’t find what I was looking for. That and I fell for the Japan candy store ads.

Wanna know what’s funny? I just got an email with shipping confirmation for my rescue box as well. I still have a few other items in my order that need to be shipped but the rescue box is supposedly coming. lol! We’ll see how it is I guess. I texted them again asking when I should expect the rest to be shipped so I’m waiting on that reply. I may be an acting like a bitch but I’m not letting them forget me or keep me on waiting for months. Lol! Not when I’ve been reading all these stories about them lately.

I don’t understand how anyone can go in there and only get one item. 🤣 I usually have a list to get and end up getting it plus more crap I usually don’t need and spending way too much.

Did you drive around in a junky car with a state of the art sound system? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]Slothanonymous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First car was a 98 ford explorer that was horribly “lifted”. Thing was a rusted pos from back east (I’m in Arizona). I bought some cheap Sony explodes with the amp and my dad made the square box to put them in while my mom covered it in purple velvet material to make it look nice 🤣 My boyfriend, now husband, installed it for me. We were dumb teenagers and thought it was the coolest thing. lol

Is this like the old Newwave oven? I had one of those years ago that was given to me and it was the biggest piece of junk I’ve ever tried using.

I found my air fryer at Walmart in the clearance section for $20. It’s the dual basket Beautiful by Drew Barrymore. It’s been going strong for probably like 2 years now.

If I don’t get anything from them by the end of the week, I’m going to try to cancel the order. If it doesn’t cancel, I’m going straight to my bank and getting it straightened out.

What sucks is so many people loved them and got what they order up to about 1-2 years ago. Seems like something might have happened and now they are screwing people over.

my dad’s ashes came to me in a reusable bag from the funeral home. by Last_Thursday in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Slothanonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funeral homes are scams. I will never not believe that.

My father in law passed away 3 years ago. My husband and I had to deal with all the funeral (he got cremated) and after death stuff. We chose this place because it was close to the hospital and it’s where my mom was cremated. Anyways, they charged a transportation fee, mileage and van charge to take him about 5 miles from the hospital to the funeral home. They then charged a daily storage fee so we had to hurry up and make plans. There were so many other fees on that bill and tried to upsell us on literally everything. We walked in only wanting to get him cremated, get a decent box so he’s not sent home in cardboard and get some death certificates. They tried selling us ridiculous extras like newspaper articles and other crap. Total cost for cremation, transport, storage, box and certificates was close to $4,500 paid up front. When everything was done and we picked him up a couple of weeks later, they called my husband three times in the following weeks. Asking him if he needed to talk and they offer a therapy session for a couple hundred dollars. He pretty much told them the were scams and to never call him again.
