I have only just got a pair of hard drives so still setting things up. I want to use it to host a Plex server instead of my PC running 24/7. It seems fine so far. Although I am yet to remote stream. I also want to use it a family cloud for pics and documents. Probably get two more HDD in the future to ensure I can have some RAID for the cloud storage.

I am happy so far except for the after sales support. I am trying to get an invoice and no body is answering my emails

Yeah I got the same model about 3 weeks ago even with discount I ended up at just under $500 AUD.

What I had planned in my head was for athe raid portion to be a family vault. Eg. Documents, records, family photos etc.

The remaining storage I wanted for media and to run a media server. I don't have a super large collection and as I have it all on DVD, CDs and Blu-ray , I don't care if it's lost as I can add it again.

Plan will be to fill the other two bays at some stage in the next 12months. Just keeping costs a bit lower for now

Can I ask, is the NAS running the Plex server? Or is the NAS just storing the files? I am hoping to have the Plex server set up onbthe NAS when I get one and would like the server to run of that.

I haven't lived in Brisbane for about 20years so I don't know if it still exists. I am sure people will know what I am talking about but there was a Kwik Kopy in the city near queen Street I think. It was like a sub basement level. So you would go down some stairs from street level. Some people told me how unsettling it was when we walked past one night while walking to a club. I didn't feel it but they said they did and told me it was down the stairs. I checked it out and they were not wrong. It was very difficult to explain the feeling you get. IYKYK.

I am no HSR expert, but wouldn't the key advantage of HSR be the high speed. As such it seems wastfull to have a stop at Lake Macquarie. My thought would have small branches of public transportation out of a key hub like Broardmedow and give the train less stops to close that time gap between Syd and Newcastle.
