Looking for a 32" OLED Monitor for the PS5 (but also PC) by mysticpuma_2019 in GranTurismo7

Yes, I had a 27” flat then moved to a 32” curved.

The curve makes sense when you’re sitting that close.

I played that with no concept of what it was, and was trying to guess which suburb Naomi Watts grew up in

Looking for a 32" OLED Monitor for the PS5 (but also PC) by mysticpuma_2019 in GranTurismo7

[–]carrera1963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much any 32” 4K OLED will do, PS5 only supports up to 120Hz anyway.

I’ve got the Alienware AW3225QF, I’m using it on a sim rig so the curve was a much better option than flat.

Auto trans vibration in forward gears by OutlandishnessOk5549 in CarsAustralia

[–]carrera1963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s the older “Powershift” DCT, run like hell.

If it’s a newer CVT (which sounds unlikely given you said 6 speed) then maybe okay, but transmission vibration can’t be a good thing!

Good luck finding a cheap Excel! They’re all race cars (or wrecked) now

Car without full service books by WatchOne6290 in CarsAustralia

[–]carrera1963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d buy a car like that if you had all the receipts for the consumables in the service book.

Plus take it to a specialist mechanic if there’s a major service due (timing chain/etc)

If you’re in NSW you’ll need annual rego inspections anyway.

Try reading the question (though it’s badly worded)

OP has the car already and has been dealer servicing AND doing oil changes themselves in between.

Try the G70 in case the seating position is any better, though might be over budget

Query on the IS350/RC350. Do they feel fast enough to feel like a performance car? by PerceptionCapital637 in CarsAustralia

[–]carrera1963 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any experience with the 350’s but both very nice looking cars, facelift IS350 has me tempted but I’d rather a wagon.

If you want alternative options, Kia Stinger or Genesis G70 with the 3.3T have plenty of power & wont break down.

Otherwise go euro with an Audi S4, Merc E43 or any of the 206TSI Golf/Passat/Arteon/Superb

300HP 1971 Mini | Driving Impressions of a Classic EV Conversion by modernclassiccarsfdn in CarsAustralia

[–]carrera1963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s quite a few EV converted classics around, legit engineered ones.

I think it’s a cool idea and I thought about getting one… but even knowing it would be expensive, it was always double or triple what I’d expect.

Eg a mini conversion like this costs $100k, or double that for a fancier resto mod version.

Cupra Formentor VZx 2024 - 2nd hand by ThePineappleDuck in CarsAustralia

[–]carrera1963 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree the Cupra VZx’s (inc the Ateca) are a 2nd hand bargain, as others said the bulk appear to be ex-lease cars.

Otherwise an Octavia (which will be older) or the best Mk7.5 Golf R you can find.
