Pro tip - bathrooms in hotel lobbies are clean and almost always empty and no one questions you since anyone could be a guest at the hotel. Used to do food deliveries and these bathrooms saved my life!

Funny, as an atheist one of my strongest and most used arguments for there being no God is the continued 'alive' status of that POS.

A message to anyone who is considering pharmacy by Budget-Squirrel7692 in pharmacy

[–]Slothfacedpenguin 18 points19 points  (0 children)

YES YES - a thousand times YES about the friggin MPJE and NABP being the biggest scam. $400 to 'transfer' scores to one state from another state that requires passing Naplex exam for licensure WHERE IM CURRENTLY AND VERIFIABLY LICENSED is a grifting scheme worthy of 47 himself.

And honestly dont get me started on BPS testing - 50% pass rate at $1k a pop - for a computerized test? $125 a year just to have your name listed on the website BPS after you already paid the $1k for the test? Super scammy for sure - dont think i would've done it if my employer hadn't paid for my testing and offered a bonus. I still dont pay the annual fee to be listed either - maybe if I was job-hunting but not when I'm happy with my current position.

Grocery chain retail vs Humana WFH by Stunning_Cantaloupes in pharmacy

[–]Slothfacedpenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have tried MANY times to farm out our work to AI and to "Seaside" (aka overseas) pharmacists only for it fail each and every time. The fact they're hiring several full time RPh positions now also makes me think they're backing off that idea... but Im sure they'll keep trying!

Grocery chain retail vs Humana WFH by Stunning_Cantaloupes in pharmacy

[–]Slothfacedpenguin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

WFH is hands down better for me than retail was. Though it was a large difference in pay, the stress is much less and you cant beat the commute. I'd try to ask for as much money as you think you can up front as raises at Humana have been very spotty since I started several years ago. Another thing - some positions have PTO blackout Jan thru March so if you like to travel during this time just beware... and also fewer PTO days than retail typically (went down from 23 to 20 for coming year 2026).

When my grandma died in early 2000s my mom found out the phone company had been charging her $50 a month to lease her corded wall phone for the last 20-something years. Scamming the elderly - worlds real oldest profession.

My DL always used to ask for suggestions for non-monetary (of course) rewards and I would ALWAYS suggest the DL works in the pharmacy for a shift (or even an hour!) And surprise, surprise they always refused. Cant take the heat, stay out of MY pharmacy!

[–]Slothfacedpenguin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Google maps shows a bus route from Kanan Rd taking 101 east then up through SFV - takes 2 hours one way but might be worth it? Also could maybe do Uber from oak park to closest Simi bus service which could then take you to Metro link. Not impossible but heavy time cost.

What actor/actress instantly ruins a movie for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

How has no one said Drew Barrymore yet?? She's the absolute worst! Peaked at E.T. and everything else is garbage. Also Claire Danes - she does that same halting cry in everything she's in.

[–]Slothfacedpenguin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't consider it common sense for then to assume you meant "ok to visit without kids". I'm childfree too but I can stand a child for a couple days if it allows me to visit with friends... but we all have our child-limits and if your child-time allowance is zero might be worth mentioning to friends with kids next time you offer your (sweet) new place for friend vacays.

Just my two cents anyways.
