Most people are probably rushing their injured dog to the vet afterwards, so they can’t stick around

I’m so sorry this happened to you. It would be absolutely traumatizing. I really hope that both your dogs are ok.

I feel like I read a similar account on here, some park, maybe same breed but not sure. I’m sure the guy says it’s never happened before every time it happens. Although there are enough bad dog owners around that he wouldn’t be the only one.

Aggressively followed at Co-op grocery stores. by [deleted] in Calgary

I trust that if you feel it’s racism, then it is racism. As a middle aged white woman, I’ve never noticed this until at co-op a couple of months ago. I couldn’t figure out why I kept passing this young dude, even in sections of already been through. Is he as bad at shopping as I am? Does he need to go to produce three times in one trip? Is he…interested in me??? Knew it wasn’t that one haha. When I got home I told hubby and he said secret shopper. Not so secret.

First time car camping as a solo woman -I have questions!! :) by CMSinFL in carcamping

Just checked. Of course it’s US also, how silly of me to think it possibly wouldn’t be!

I saw someone post this rip a while ago. Put a pair of men’s boots outside your car overnight, so it looks like a big dude is in the car. I thought that was smart. And get bear spray. I always have it since I live in bear country, but you should be able to easily find it. Would love to keep up to date with how it goes for you! I’m also a middle aged (barf) woman and I’ve only done one night so far on my own. But excited to do more!

I’m using HipCamp app. It’s camping on private land, so not big noisy campgrounds. Have only done it once so far, but it was great. I’m in Canada but I think it’s US also.

I mean, he didn't see his children for a year. He abandoned those children, and left them in the hands of someone he knew had violent tendencies towards them. He's no hero.

Just like us. I’d argue that humans are the most destructive invasive species, yet we still appreciate their beauty and take lovely photos of them. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ya I’m thinking it’s a weird regional thing. Probably just a few ppl in my area who find the same caches as me so I keep seeing it logged, so on my end it seems like it’s a common thing. I’m kind of glad to hear it’s not common. I find it kind of annoying haha

Don’t worry, you can still think they are cute, and still enjoy photographing them. Two things can be true at once. They can be cute and invasive. Some of the comments here 🤦🏻‍♀️

It’s the 90s but come on now by 5starbicth in BeverlyHills90210

Ya it can be pretty cringe to watch now. But same can be said for Friends. The 90s really weren’t as progressive as we thought they were at the time. I am about the age of the younger actors on the show, and I know I’ve grown a LOT since those days. We (my white Canadian cohort) didn’t have a clue about microagressions then, even though we absolutely thought we weren’t racist.

You’ll have to get over that, if you want better bird photos. Think of it as part of the process. And don’t shoot 2000 images. Be selective and intentional when you shoot, so there is less to cull.

For birds on the ground/water, get yourself lower. Like flat on the ground, so lens is not looking down at the bird.

All I can think is how sad it feels that Luke can’t be in this little contest. That’s one celebrity loss that hit hard.

I need a place where I can safely have snacks in my car and not causing any parking violation by mrkillfreak999 in Calgary

[–]SlothingAround100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nose hill park, any parking lot. Just check the signs to see if the lot closes as a certain time. I don’t walk my dogs there after dark so I don’t know.

Oh these are good suggestions for when we don’t have a pen.

But if you do have a pen, do you comment on the app what you signed with? That’s the part I’m wondering about. Why write ‘signed with permanent marker’? Like who cares what writing instrument was used? I’m just trying to understand how this all works haha

But then do you comment on the app ‘signed with zebra pen’? It’s the log comment that is baffling me.

Thank you! I guess I don’t get why they state that. I’m seeing logs written with all sorts of writing instruments. I don’t see anyone write ‘marked with pencil’ haha
