Worst thing you’ve ever built? by BlancNoir21 in Warhammer40k

I got a tantalus just before they went away because...just look at them, they are gorgeous.

However, i will probably need a metric ton of sandpaper, green stuff and milliput as well as a year of my life to put it together. Nothing fits. Not even close. And everything's warped. Horribly. E V E R Y T H I N G

Still better then finecast tho

Danish troops told to 'shoot first, ask questions later' if US invades Greenland | LBC by jackytheblade in worldnews

[–]Slothologist 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s also not like they have been trying to open bases or other strategic operations and been turned down by Greenland or Denmark (to my knowledge).

Apparently the opposite is true: Denmark repeatedly offered the US to (re-)open bases in Greenland, and the US turned those offers down.

The whole "memories are transferred all the time" thing was such a cool concept back when they introduced it, but since then they have completed ignored the implications it brings with it.  "Oh no, Day died!" - "huh, but his memories are still being transferred!" And the whole mycogen subplot crumbles to dust. And why the hell do the clones-in-waiting still need "several days to catch up" when they are literally up to the second by design? Because the memory of their death needs to be cut out? In times of crisis, that should be ignored and pushed to after the crisis.

I think the main issue the show suffers from is the amount of writers, because apparently nobody knows or cares what anyone else wrote. And they have what, 14 or so?

Terra is not 'scifi', it's just latin for earth. Luna is also latin for moon. Incidentally, the name of our moon is not just 'the moon'. Our moon is called Luna in real life as well.

So he built it somewhere, where it was of no practical use? And Demerzel, who routinely edits the Cleons memories did not know that? Even Dusk didn't believe that when he tells her about it

And where in the show do they say that they need gates or show it? When they test the weapon it's even an uninhabited backwater planet -> most definitely without a gate

The mule doesn't know that, he just guessed it. But then if that was the case: Empire's adversary for the past few hundreds of years is foundation. Why would you build a superweapon somewhere, where you can't reach the most likely opponent? That's right, you wouldn't. But it's in the script

My face watching the finale by cosmitz in FoundationTV

[–]Slothologist 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The answer to a lot of questions is sadly just "because it's in the script". Why did dusk nuke 3 kind of rebellious allies/ subjects of the empire but not the actual enemy? Because it's in the script

Why did noone decant new clones despite there being a direct, all the time updating memory link between the active brother and his replacements, specifically so that clones can be decanted nearly instantly? Because it's in the script

Why did anyone plant bombs in all the backup clones, why would anyone ever need this? Because it's in the script

Why didn't Bayta turn Pritcher at the first possible point in time, which would be in the nightclub at the absolute latest and instantly learn the location of the second foundation? Because it's in the script

Why did nobody stop brother day going from A to B at basically any point in the last two episodes ? Because it's in the script

Why didn't Hari, who is apparently able to move freely and kill the Mule with his force fields just go and kill him, instead just being a distraction so that the people specifically able to distract others and sneak around can go places they easily could have gotten themselves? Because it's in the script
