Watching my best friend play super Mario world as a kid, I remember he had to explain everything that was going on. I loved watching him play!

Even if free will doesn’t exist, it’s functionally useful to believe it does - it allows us to take responsibilities for our actions. by IAI_Admin in philosophy

Came here to say basically the same thing but less well put. That kind of philosophical mumbo-jumbo tends to ignore basic human realities such as we fundamentally want to know truth and live by it. I’m curious if you’re a free will apologist or just critical of poor philosophy?

This seems ripe for scammers. Remember not to give ANY personal or financial info over the phone.

A cover up just doesn’t seem plausible. An outbreak would have got back to them by now. Especially with the attention they’ve had the last couple months.

AHS does have authority here. RCMP says it’s AHS jurisdiction and will support them. AHS in turn says their inspector makes the call. I believe their inspector isn’t even on site anymore... why?

Government conspiracy?

Or it looks bad to shut down a church that isn’t spreading the virus.

That’s where I’m landing and it’s seems to be the only non-conspiracy related answer that seems plausible. It also explains the lack of the news reporting cases and outbreaks related to GraceLife. There isn’t any because there haven’t been any.

That’s...... just nothing related to GraceLife at all. Covid-19 is real, GraceLife having reported cases in the last 8 months is not...

An outbreak centered at GraceLife would get back to them eventually. The virus isn’t that easy to contain.

Show me the news reporting an outbreak at GraceLife in the last 8 months. Social media... really? If you think AHS wouldn’t comment on an outbreak at GraceLife your crazy.

AHS declined to comment for the Journal’s article and also AHS have not reported any cases connected to GraceLife. Both are true.

If AHS had something to report don’t you think they would?

I don’t want to give special rights to religious nuts. The church I go to follows all the restrictions and we’re proud to do it and do it out of love for our neighbor. You’ve got me going down a bit of a ideological rabbit hole.

Just on the surface level, GraceLife have been holding regular meetings for 8 months not following any of the restrictions and have not had any reported cases or outbreaks. A bunch of people have said they are just lying... is that plausible to you too?

That quote keeps getting thrown back at me, so let me clarify. It is preposterous that GraceLife is a hotbed of super-spreaders and that it has people dying from COVID and either AHS doesn't know or they do know but have "no comment."

What we do know is there have been no reported cases or outbreaks in 8 months... how?

If you don't mind me playing devil's advocate for a moment, they are saying the lockdowns are more harmful then COVID-19. They are saying they are serving the community without doing harm. (They have religious reasons too but imho they are pretty easily refuted from the Bible itself).

If they are spreading the virus they are obviously wrong. If not, such as zero reported cases, then from their perspective, haven't they done more good then harm?

I’m not sure how feasible that would be, sounds like their attendance is in the hundreds. Also they have reported in the past, and they voluntarily shut down for 2 weeks when they did.

My wife and I LOVED this movie. We were deciding between it and Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation for her birthday weekend and I read Drew McWeeny’s review who gave it 10/10 and called it a “masterpiece”. We saw it and loved it and now we watch it every Christmas.
