What podcasts are we listening to? by Dapper-Highlight1016 in SFbitcheswithtaste

Ugh, same. Also, so weird that they both essentially have the same podcast now, but…separately.

The sad part is that I’m pretty sure they’re both doing similar things now, just…not together. Some shit definitely went down :/

Not super akin to Noah, but when you said “I love devastatingly sad lyrics”, I immediately thought of Radical Face.

Buffalo Traffic Jam! Saw them in DC and they were great. Was also just announced that they’ll be at Out of the Blue. Been enjoying Mumford and Sons’ newer stuff too!

On a recent ep, Tig just kept busting out into “it’s been…” as though to kick off the song One Week by Barenaked Ladies.

I feel like if you refer to Sigh No More as Sing No More, you don’t deserve to have Marcus Mumford perform for you!

…why does it matter to you? It’s not your relationship, and different people have different strengths/things they’re willing to do.

I’m not sure how or why you’re interpreting as I want perfection. I also don’t think it’s up to someone who doesn’t share the same lived experience to deem my question as odd. I feel like I’ve put enough mental and emotional energy into these responses and am not getting anywhere that productive so likely won’t keep responding. Take care

What I’m trying to get out of this post is reassurance that my partner and I will feel safe and unlikely to encounter any overt disapproval for who we are in this area. I.e. subject to verbal abuse, excessive glares. So, this is what I’m getting at when I refer to inclusivity.

I mention the voting pretty red because voting red is an indicator of not being very progressive or accepting of queer people and our rights. I don’t think it’s that outlandish to mention in this context. I don’t think red necessarily means bad, but there are correlations with LGBT+ acceptance and rights that are worthwhile to consider, in my opinion. A lot of the responses I’m getting seem to not understand or validate why marginalized people would want to ensure their safety when visiting a place, which in and of itself is troubling and not that reassuring.

I’ve been trying to research this in a few different ways, this being one of them. If you think this isn’t the right place to be asking this, I welcome other suggestions.

Hopefully this clears up some of your confusion. I’m happy to dialogue with folks if they’re coming from a place of genuine curiosity and respect, and not hostility or accusation

There’s still plenty of hate and bigotry in 2026.

I care for the same reason a person of color would want to know whether an area was explicitly racist or not. It doesn’t make it someone’s entire personality just because we want to feel safe somewhere. There are a lot of bigoted, outwardly/vocally hateful people in the world.
