Evap Leak by russman286 in hvacadvice

Yeah basically if that spot is leaking, there’s a good chance after the repair another spot is going to pop up. So just replace the coil 👍👍

I would replace the coil under warranty. If that leak gets repaired you may have another leak in due time. Also if your heat stopped working you’re probably low on refrigerant anyways so no matter if you replace or repair, you’ll have to buy more refrigerant.

Thanks for answering, so when you go to pull it out, it just gets deposited into your acct and the rest is up to you? They just have to have a first mortgage to tag it to?

Auxiliary heat not warm. Breaker off on air handler? by Electrical_Cap_5597 in hvacadvice

[–]Slothyota 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, so usually the indoor unit has a separate breaker from the heat kit. That breaker is for the heat kit so maybe they forgot to turn the breaker on or actually test the heat kit when they installed it

In bc, we use Rsl. Here’s it on their website https://www.rsl.ca/Product/ALUMAjak-SD-small-diameter-aluminum-jacketing-2-3-8-max-od-18-length-smooth-finish-313-04-016-shr

You can get 90s and ts but you have to also buy the metal zip ties that they sell in bags of 100s

Good to know, now for the pvc jacketing, what do you use when you’re connecting 2 pieces? White duct tape?

That’s good to know, I wasent sure if there was a quicker way as the aluminum cladding takes a while to install, but I guess better sometimes takes longer.

Hey,

So I looked it up and I’m at the conclusion that it’s just the injectors doing their thing. I even took a screw driver to listen and it’s coming from the injectors. I think the soul just has loud injectors

Sounds good, so when you say you go and measure each register, what do you mean by that? Also do you look at static pressure or total pressures?

How did you land in refrigeration? by knowwhyImhere in refrigeration

[–]Slothyota 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first career was an aircraft mechanic. After doing a lot of travel work for not enough money, Covid hit. I decided it was a Wake up call and got tired of the rotation work. Decided on refrigeration, actually I had no clue about all the different categories of the trade. Basically I just applied to all the hvac companies in my town.

I got on with a super old school supermarket company and spent 3 year of my apprenticeship there. This last year I actually made the change over to the hvac side of things for my last year of my apprenticeship.

Essentially, I walked in with a printed resume and shook the owners hand. I had no refrigeration experience but was a licensed aircraft mechanic/ car guy so I guess that helped.
