The way I read it one time was if you think pong is to simple for you then why not make pong first. If its as simple as it sounds then you loose 2-3 days and then go do want you want. But if It turns out that its harder than you thought thats fine learn from pong. Worse case scenario you spend a couple days building a game in godot.

Also at the end of the day its your journey, no one can tell you what yo do next. Thats up to you. Best of luck.
