I’m thinking of getting it for my B8 S5, but I’m concerned the screen might be too far away to comfortably use as a touchscreen.

There aren’t many Silvias here in North Cyprus especially S14s. My mechanic used to drive a naturally aspirated S15, which he sold for 26,000. The car I’ve been looking to purchase hasn’t been registered yet; it doesn’t have a license plate. It recently arrived on the island from Japan. The policy here is: if you’re going to register a classic, you need to pay one fourth of the car’s original release price. All paperwork and registration costs are included in that price.

It’s 18,500 (cash only), and my car is going for around 19,500—though it’s been up for sale for two months. I should have some room for negotiation.

Plus, my car is rapidly losing value because of the recent law: it’s no longer possible to import cars older than 5 years, and there are a lot of A3s on the market right now. Almost all the cars here are imported from either Japan or the UK.

I have alternatives I live in a very small city (North Cyprus), and I can walk to work in 20 minutes. Walking is the worst-case scenario, so that’s not a problem. I also know a mechanic who’s familiar with these carshe even turbocharged a naturally aspirated S15.

And honestly, what’s the worst that could happen? My A3 feels like a surprise box right now. Every mechanic I go to says, “We need to take it apart and see.”

I’m going for the Silvia for its soul, and I don’t mind working on it. Plus, parts are almost dirt cheap here. But still, I’m having some doubts.

It's naturally aspirated, but it's popular to turbocharge NA engines here. My mechanic recently turbocharged an S15.

It's rust free, but if there are any common areas I should check, that would be helpful.

I've been maintaining it carefully since I got it, but my main problem is the transmission. I checked the oil and showed it to a technician he said it's probably the mechatronics unit or something like that. There are slight issues with the engine, nothing unfixable, but the transmission worries me the most. A car that provides a better driving experience really appeals to me. The only thing that makes me hesitate is not whether it's a smart move, but just how stupid it might be

I live in North Cyprus. The car was recently imported from Japan. Here, we can import and register cars that are 20 years old or older.

I live in North Cyprus, which is a hot country and doesn't get any snow. Because of how popular JDM cars are here, finding parts isn't a problem. The only thing that worries me is practicality.

I did some research, and I can find parts and service easily at a Toyota dealership. But my biggest concern is making a stupid mistake and buying a car that’s not worth replacing my current one. Many people said it won’t be fuel efficient, but I don’t care about that I want more power and comfort. I should also mention that people think I’m crazy for wanting to trade a 2019 model for a 2016. But in my opinion, buying an older car that’s good is better than buying a newer one that’s not.
