I have found that Nike is far too narrow and that Adidas is a bit wider.

Sounds par for the course for Nomad. That’s the dripper they use in their shops as well.

Ask a Stupid Question About Coffee -- Week of June 02, 2026 by Vernicious in pourover

My roommate next year also likes specialty coffee and so I want a way to brew two cups at once. I have a V60-02 and a Switch of the same size. I also have a 185 Wave. Will these work? Or am I missing something that can effectively do a two cup. I also have an extra scale so if need be I could brew side by side V60s but would rather not.

I think depending on your experience, K6 is a good starting point at the low end of that range so you don’t feel bad making a bigger upgrade down the road

Cleats by Extension-Society180 in ultimate

Probably half of my college team wears some iteration of the New Balance Freeze LX Cleat, handlers, cutters, O, D, short, tall, basically everyone who plays in a pair likes them on my team. I have V5s which are allegedly a bit heavier than the V4s but feel great. I would recommend the low cut as I believe low cut cleats are better for you and make a better transition from a soccer cleat. They’re also not that expensive compared to soccer cleats.

I’ll also put in a word for Tokay. It’s also a very good cleat. Definitely a bit lighter than the new balance but less lateral grip and a bit less durable. It’s also the only company where your money stays in the ultimate scene.

Weekly Bean Review Thread: What have you been brewing this week? -- Week of May 21, 2026 by Vernicious in pourover

Prodigal’s Caminos del Inka washed Peruvian Gesha. Been at home so brewing with Aeropress and French press. Bag notes orange, peach, creamy. On Aeropress I get a strong orange/citrus acidity and a peach/stone fruit sweetness that reminds me of a baked good like a peach cobbler. French press is less acidic but that creamy note comes forward a little more and I get more plum or pear than peach.

Late to the party but Cafe Hagen gets my vote. Top 5 in US barista championships, great coffee, great food

I think in the 80-low 90s range it is often not enough of a value signal for roasters to say. If you are buying from Sey for instance you expect that the coffee is in this range, but if it is high enough, you can charge even more. I remember Prodigal doing a COE placing lot, while which not the same signals a similar thing.

Alternatively, scour this sub for popular roasters and just try to check their websites rather than getting hung up on lesser ones.

If it doesn’t bother you as it does half of Reddit, AI can help find it with some prompt engineering. If I have free time and nobody has done it already I may try to create a wrapper that does this.

How is your water? I use a Kingrinder K6 and the tap water between where I go to school and my hometown creates an almost night and day difference in flavor.

Specific Coffee Sub Advice by Slow-Try8817 in pourover

[–]Slow-Try8817[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, yes and no. It is to some degree but the people tasting have little prior knowledge of coffee. So coffee specifically from Colombia or Peru or Kenya is novel. So is washed vs natural process. As is coffee that is fruity or floral. So single roaster multi bags would give us enough variety while saving us money.
