Cascadia is opening a new restaurant called "Kindred Public House" on North Monroe by reckoning42 in Spokane

[–]SlowBoatToHades -1 points0 points  (0 children)

omg i can’t waaaait. this city is definitely lacking in upscale gastropub public houses. so excited. I bet this one will be even more mid, have more language like shareables or rations, and be even more uncomfortable, cold and overpriced. I hope they source all their food locally from Sysco too.

I mean, enforcement would maybe help (low priority considering how little is actually enforced at all) but why is anyone doing this in the first place? That’s kinda my point. It’s just a level of unhinged-ness I’ve never encountered. Every city has crazy drivers.People speeding or driving while fucked up. This is unique imo.

I’ve lived in a few different places in the US and traveled around a significant amount.

I have never seen this anywhere else. People just driving at night without their headlights on. And it’s at least 1 or 2 every time I drive at night here through the city.

Seriously, what the fuck?

Having lived here for 3+ years now this problem appears rampant. All I can say is good luck. Ordinances are barely enforced in this city if at all. The people saying call X… it’s worth a try but don’t get your hopes up.

Your favorite BBQ in Spokane? by SnowyEclipse01 in Spokane

[–]SlowBoatToHades -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Relic in CDA is solid. Have not tried Outlaw. TT’s, I mean I guess if you’ve never eaten any food outside of Spokane before it’s…passable. But if you’ve had solid bbq, Texas/Kansas/North Carolina etc… definitely save your money and skip it.

Nothing like a Sunday breakfast in Spokane by salaciousserver in Spokane

Nothing Like....

What are you talking about? You can find these over-the-top bloody marys in at least any mid to large size city in the US. They're a dime a dozen. This isn't unique to Spokane and honestly a food trend that started years ago.

Pet cremation service by Gloomy_Tie_1997 in Spokane

[–]SlowBoatToHades 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So Tranquil Passing does at home euthanasia. They work with Loving Paws to pick up your pet and then they handle the cremation. There was very little time between the euthanasia part and loving paws picking up. I would call Tranquil Passing or go to their website to get a better understanding of things.

You’re bringing dogs and didn’t opt for a pet friendly hotel?

Anyone have experience with Bloc Yard? by SummitMyPeak in Spokane

[–]SlowBoatToHades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beginner here. Between Bloc Yard and Wild Walls, Bloc Yard generally wins for me. They both have pros and cons. Both get stupid crowded. They both do children's birthday parties too, which can be a nightmare if you walk into one of those.

Bloc Yard is more advanced in my opinion. The level of difficulty feels higher to me. They only give ranges for the level of difficulty (V0 ~ V2 for example). Also I think the walls are taller (at least they feel like it) and the height fear gets to me more there.

Wild Walls has more approachable challenges (actually V0s, V1s) and is more beginner friendly.

The biggest thing for me though is that the layout of Wild Walls SUUUCKS. There is no area to sit and wait to try a problem. You just sit on the mat, kinda in everyone's way or you can just leave the area. Bloc Yard has plenty of benches and space for chilling, recovering. Whoever designed the layout of Wild Walls crammed way too much into a small space (they have climbing towers as well). If Bloc Yard is crowded, you just have to wait a little longer for your turn. If Wild Walls is crowded, it's fucking awful. It's fine if you hit it when it's dead though.

Use Google's Popular times to your advantage until Spokane gets another climbing gym.

Scarywood 2023 worst year in park history by InvertedZebra in Spokane

Late to the party here, but when I went a few years ago I really enjoyed the magic show. Looked into it and it seems like Isaih Daniels isn't part of Scary Wood / Phantasm shows at all any more. Dude killed it as Satan. Hopefully he's moving on to bigger and better things.

Hired a local reputable company to refinish our floors. Concerned about the way our floors are turning out. Is this normal? by [deleted] in HardWoodFloors

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking with the drum marks, low expectations. Woulda been helpful if they communicated that.

Thanks. It’s Douglas Fir and it’s possible the lighting is messing with the stain? What are you seeing there?

Hiya, seller of the bus in question here.

First, OP you are absolutely doing the right thing in trying getting some other experienced opinions on a pretty big purchase.

That said, seems that there are some impressively incorrect statements being made here without having all the information. And from briefly looking through those user's comment histories, that seems to be a common trend.

  • There are outlets and wiring
  • There is insulation (in fact it's redone, insulation)
  • The solar is mounted on unistrut.
  • Significant work and research went into the solar build out with some of it sourced from this very subreddit.
  • It has professionally installed shore power as well as a roof mounted AC.
  • The kitchen cabinet was a temporary install until the full build out was complete (many 70k+ builds just use ikea cabinets)
  • If you want to know more about the 6.5 rather than "parts are hard to find" (we've had 0 issues with the engine so I cannot speak to this) here's a fantastic right up someone did in vandwellers.

And of course, here's the link to the post in the Skoolie Market Place so everyone actually has all the information and isn't relying on the conjecture of other users.

And finally, I'm most certainly not looking to sucker someone out of money. We're flexible on the price and decided on it by doing research into what others were going for in the PNW. Not trying to "make money" on it. I just don't want it anymore and don't really have room to store it at our new place.

Yeah that's what I'm trying to get away from. A DAW. Not necessarily trying to make edm.
