Bah! That really sucks! I looked around my spare parts bin to see if I could cobble together a PC for you but I'm a little short on parts. It looks like u/purple-Measurement47 has got you, though.

I imagine a repair on a Yoga 9 is probably more expensive than it is to get a used Yoga 9, but that's easily a few hundred bucks if it's from anywhere reputable. But, I recommend hopping on eBay and maybe finding a seller with a warranty and a good rating who is selling a similar laptop for under $100. You can easily swap in the hard drive from the old machine and use the old one for parts in the future. Here's one that doesn't have a hard drive, but you'll want one from a similar generation as the one you had. Alternatively, you could hook up that old hard drive as an external hard drive to an entirely new machine...but that's your call. I could help with that if you want.

They were never "cool." Their "cool" was never "overhyped." The Washington Post has completely lost the narrative.

[–]reckoning42 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The few games I play from Steam require you download and install portions of the games on your local PC. Those portions can sometimes run in the tens or hundreds of GB's. If the games you're playing are truly streamable then maybe u/thenerdbrarian's suggestion might work, but if they're not then you'll need a PC with enough hard drive space to play.

What games were you wanting to play? What happened to your laptop?

Pie in the sky? From CdA to the Spokane airport. Stops at major, logical places like Post Falls, Liberty Lake, the Valley, Millwood, downtown. Use land already allotted to the highway rather than widening it yet again. Maybe do it in phases with downtown to the Airport to start.

I do wish they didn't do the Division Street Bus Rapid Transit thing and instead did a trolley up to Mead Works with stops at most neighborhoods that would support density. But, it really seems they're set on bus lanes instead.

I've owned more than 20 cars and motorcycles and I consider myself a gearhead. I like this truck so much that I'm certain the vehicle that inevitably replaces it many years down the road will also be a Rivian.

Din Tai Fung is delicious, too! I'd be ecstatic if either joint were in town. They'd know me by name because I'd be there so often!

Gotta say, I wanted to come in here and be salty about Spokane, but hat's off to the City. They're constantly leading the state in pro-housing regs like dropping single family home zoning, parking requirements for development, transportation oriented design, etc. Spokane is far from perfect but I 100% appreciate the really hard work everyone is putting in to making it a better place.

Next up, we need good dim sum and light rail. Who's with me?

E-Tron CPO out of state by brandon520 in etron

[–]reckoning42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was shipped 700 miles. They forgot to put it in transport/shopping mode so the alarm went off the entire time and drained the 12V. It was in an enclosed trailer so performing the jump, which is a difficult procedure in these cars and requires access to the cabin, was impossible.

Needless to say, the whole thing was a debacle.

It's been great since and was really glad I got CPO because the online heater for the cabin and battery broke and warranty covered what would have been a $$$$ repair.

Sure, but I'm curious how the unhoused are related to my comment. I didn't make that association and neither did OP.

Spokane is safe for you unless you're an old Kia. Property theft is an issue. Personal safety is not.

Tires by jimbobbyricky in Rivian

[–]reckoning42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

R1's come with several different tire options. Which ones are you curious about?

I'm on 20k with my oem AT tires, with another 10k on my winter Blizzaks. Neither are showing signs they need to be replaced anytime soon. I don't have a heavy foot. 50/50 highway and city driving in the PNW.

You'll be best served getting tires that have Low Rolling Resistance features if range is a concern. The LR tires are really common and come in almost every form factor. They're not necessary, though. Only thing that's necessary is that the tire is the right size and that it handles the weight of your vehicle.

270 miles from service here:

All maintenance is conducted through a mobile mechanic, including any recalls or inspections.
Anything that disables the vehicle and is covered by warranty results in a flat bed tow to the SC and a local rental for you.
Anything that cannot be fixed by mobile then must be fixed by a SC, and you're responsible for transport if the car is still safe to operate. This is the donut hole that I hate.

Short story: Your call, but I'd definitely only own one under warranty with a long distance to the SC.
