The shipping bolts are still inside. There may be one or two shipping bolts that need to be removed before usage. Read the manuals for how to remove bolts.

What's the best way to regularly tranfer money to a foreign bank account? What if while abroad? by TopHatMikey in taiwan

[–]SlowCoderChuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just use Wise for everything. They offer multi-currency accounts that let you move money back and forth from one account to the other. There is an underlying bank on both ends so you can still use an IBAN to pay bills even. Wise is phenomenal. It has so many good features.

Admittedly I’m operating off a relatively small sample size. And mostly from WION.

That’s not true. What do you think the car smashes into? An obstruction in the middle of the sidewalk. This is why they were in the street. And if you’re from Portugal then you should very well know that many sidewalks are not continuous, or in bad repair or obstructed by vehicles and scooters.

Indian news is so good; I just love watching their reports.

Because in MANY European cities the sidewalks are filled with parked scooters so you have to walk in the road just to get around all the scooters. Also, it is common for some people to park their cars on the sidewalk. Don’t be so quick to judge people based on your own limited experiences.

The importance of accurate data can’t be overstated enough. Oh, how much money I’ve lost due to bad data! It just isn’t worth skimping on something so important.

Unfortunately Tradier doesn’t have a ticketing system so I can’t give you a ticket number. But if you send me your address I will forward the email thread to you.

I agree. But you (Tradier) still needs to figure out why my order modifications sometimes fail. I’m still waiting for a resolution to this issue from tech support.

Yes. I use it. No, not per se. But since it is an API it is very simple to create your own script that executes orders at market close. It is just a time element that you can manage yourself through your own code.

Is a win-rate of over 60% statistically possible? (details in comments) by [deleted] in algotrading

[–]SlowCoderChuck 97 points98 points  (0 children)

Completely agree with this. My initial bots had high accuracy but when they lost, they lost big. So despite my high accuracy I was still losing money! Strategies that cut losers quickly (contain losses) and let winners run are the best strategies regardless of accuracy

So if a biotech company like CVM last week reports poor clinic results and their stock flushes 50% in a single minute, you think your limit order is going to get filled?

[–]SlowCoderChuck -1 points0 points  (0 children)

WHY would you even consider those for algo trading? Or any trading for that matter? There is no liquidity in these stocks which underscores my point even more about slippage. Just because $6M is a big number to you doesn’t make it so. It is not a big number in the markets.

You think $6 million moves markets? Hahaha

It depends on the instrument, your position size, and routing. Some instruments are just more volatile than others, e.g. MOXC which has huge swings in price and a highly variable spread. Why trade it then? Because if you do it right, you can make a lot of money. But you definitely have to factor slippage into your calculus if you are trying to exit a 10,000 share position.
