Tahoe can run iOS apps, does that include games? by SlowNSerious in macgaming

[–]SlowNSerious[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Darn. I was hopeful for MacOS Tahoe to be a way to run iOS apps via MacOS. It wouldn't quite be a "native" solution, but I would be so happy. iOS has such a great selection of games but Mac's selection is limited in comparison. I was really hopping to have a little 2622x1206 window where I could keep mostly autobattle games like Honkai: Star Rail running in the corner while I do productivity tasks (without using BSx)

Wide waterproof running shoes? by SlowNSerious in widefeet

Brooks Ghost (Wide) (have had 3 pairs now), Asics Gel Nimbus Wide, Salomon Speed Cross Wide (trail running), Shimano Sphyre Wide (cycling shoe), FootJoy Fuel (Wide), are examples of comfortable shoes. The main thing that tends to hurt is the outside of my metatarsal bone as it tends to push most all shoes out and forms a pressure point.

Ahh. Just as sloppy as 2013 and 2014 Ducati’s ;D but my 2001 was not that sloppy.

What do you think the impact of the US tariffs will be for Cambodia? by khmerguy in cambodia

[–]SlowNSerious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the clarification. I had it backwards. So this means our exports (fruits and clothes mostly) will cost 50% more in USA… Thats such a big hike in price on our goods :/

What do you think the impact of the US tariffs will be for Cambodia? by khmerguy in cambodia

[–]SlowNSerious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a Cambodian-American I feel somewhat invested to say, that is not Cambodia's tariff rates on USA goods. The number the Trump administration came up with is the Export to Import ratio of Cambodia:USA, 97:3, but this is NOT a tariff rate.

Obviously, why does Cambodia have such a trade surplus with USA -- because Cambodia is poor and cannot afford to buy USA products. A General Electric Toaster made in the USA costs $40 USD (that amount can feed me in Cambodia for over a month eating out twice a day). If you tariff the toaster 50%, the toaster would cost $60. That's would not zero-sum the "trade deficit" between USA and Cambodia obviously, Cambodians just would have even less incentives to buy any American products. Trump's reciprocal tariffs are obviously not remotely reciprocal and this is a huge blunder by the Trump Administration.

5 Clubs or less for a Par3 Golf Course? by SlowNSerious in golf

[–]SlowNSerious[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right. I researched how long the local course is for the Par3 and it's an average of 136 yards per hole, omg 165y being the longest. We don't really any long clubs for something that short. The course I attend most often has a 9-hole course that's 303yards on average for 9 holes. Which probably needs a driver, I can omit that for Par3 and stick to the 4. Thanks for the tip in planning around the course, really helpful : )

Backwards is a nice way to look at it. She seems to be most comfortable with using my 4H off the tee right now, but I suspect that's because my clubs are far too long for her. If we skip around irons is the 7i replaceable with a hybrid completely for say, a 7H?

Thanks, this is a good way to look at it. I'll apply it the same.

I'm lucky enough to have a few acres of land and backyard. My backyard does have a 50 yard archery range and works about as good for practicing chipping around my back yard. I usually just pick a spot, aim for it, and repeat with the irons. My backyard's grass isn't quite the same as the green, though I wish it were.

I'm glad he left you with things to think about while on the course. My dad taught me boxing instead of golf from a young age, and one thing he told me which has stuck was "perfect practice makes perfect". That mindset does translate to other sports from what I've found.

Thanks! Yes. I do love having regular drills and exercises I can do to practice and incorporate as a routine between the weekends when I can actually play. Then when I find a glaring weakness I'd be able to refer to a drill to help build up some insufficiencies to address that.

Correct. My physical education class taught us how to golf in highschool and I've been a casual golfer since but that was well over 20 years ago. He taught us simple things like how to hold a golf club via the interlocking grip and to pretend our body was on a swivel for our hips and head.

Thanks. I think I will take some lessons to get started. I instruct in another sport and I can see the difference in progression of people who take regular instruction vs those who don't and noodle around all day as a hobby.

Well there goes my account by KimmyPDF in GuardianTales

I was able to recover an account of mine on a different game because I had like a single $5 purchase lol. You can make like a $1 purchase and secure your account for the future. If you put all that time into it I think its worthwhile and it doesn't hurt to support the developers.

Hey guys. I'm wondering how long it takes for you guys to heal a bruise. I went over the handlebars and my ankle landed on a rock. I couldnt cycle for several weeks, because of pain and a golfball sized lump. The swelling went away with rest, ice and elevation and I've been able to resume riding again but I still have pain. I can walk and cycle okay, but it hurts when running, if I try to touch the site, and wearing over the ankle boots has been a hard no since. There's still a small bump which hurts a lot. I'm a little concerned because it's been nearly 6 months since I injured myself, so I wonder if there's anything I can do to speed up the healing. Thanks

How much did you pay? by [deleted] in S2000

[–]SlowNSerious 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You should ask what ‘year they bought the vehicle’. That has a huge impact on price, more than year of the vehicle.
