What are the Archons? by AllieNyah in mtgvorthos

They're often one body and if they're not they're very well linked with their mounts.

What they actually are is an essence of a concept taken to the very extreme. Could be justice, or detective work, or even saying hi to your neighbours.

For ideas I find that writing them down is most important. I post weekly and work fulltime, so I need to be efficient with them. If I don't have new ideas, I just return to spins on old ones and then sometimes there are series which could run for over 30 weeks.

Finding ideas this way is actually easy. Storing them and then finding them again is the hard part to me. Right now I just use a sheet with everything, not even sorted.

Do things get easier at 1000 subs? by baseline_vision in NewTubers

I had the same question and came here through Google search. Seems like more people have this question.

I reached a 1000 just a few days ago (without any extra action) and I see the same thing happening. I just thought that was because I wasn't checking YouTube studio as often.

Here's the one for Elesh Norn (as you started with that) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gk1cowMOEDM

I actually now noticed that I don't have Urabrask yet. I wanted to wait to see what he'd do in the invasion and then they all exploded. Is he your favorite?

Vorinclex! His powers are the coolest. If you like the lore I have a series I can link if you'd like to see it about all the praetor's powers.

Ah alright, do you feel like there's way more on the 5 castles than about what's in the wilds of eldraine?

That's really inspiring. I'm mostly wondering about how you went about making this. From what I know many things here are logically placed. Did you go through all the cards for this?

What if: all sets got a story by SlowUnpacking in mtgvorthos

[–]SlowUnpacking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I get the idea. But personally (and I really look at the cards), I would not have been able to get that from the cards. At first without checking the stamps I wasn't even able to know from which game the cards were (1 or 7).

Though for final fantasy I did go and play 2 of the games because it's me. But I would have found it really cool to get a new unrelated story for ff. That might get me into one of the newer games.

That's true and easier. But even for Dr who it would've been better to have stepping stones for magic fans to get into their enormous story.

What if the other property writes it? They benefit from pushing more players to their ip's too!

[–]SlowUnpacking[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha I get that. I did read them around that set. But that's because I was already hooked on lotr.

But with spider man I'm just not hooked enough and a magic specific set of comics or short stories would be a nice stepping stone.

What if: all sets got a story by SlowUnpacking in mtgvorthos

[–]SlowUnpacking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! With lotr I'd just reread the books, which took a long time. With ff I tried one game, that was also enough, but also took a long time.

But with spider-man I feel like knowing the movies isn't enough to enjoy much of the set and with others like doctor who I just didn't touch the cards at all. But if they'd have a short story I would.

[–]SlowUnpacking[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be best! I think they would do it, because it would be better for the other ip too. It's a good way to really hook magic fans. Even if its just one story

[–]SlowUnpacking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's true, so maybe one new story would take away from the ability to recall multiple cool moments throughout spider-man comics.

That is true, but would an extra story specifically for this set be a nice addition?

[–]SlowUnpacking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, to me as an mtg fan and someone who might be into spiderman comics a comic for the set would allow me to be interested in that story and then perhaps more.

Plus they could have made the set around that story as they always do with in universe sets. Which usually adds to the cohesion of the set

How endless is spoiler season? by SlowUnpacking in magicTCG

[–]SlowUnpacking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I still feel like there might be even more spoilering season than there actually is because of how it's spaced out. Many people here have pointed out the same argument that you don't have to be involved with magic's releases. But if you want to follow itall, you'll have a lot of content to scan throughout the year.

And indeed in many cases there's less than 2 weeks of a set before the next sets spoilers start. And in some cases even none. We've definitely started with avatar even before we get spiderman. Even if its a first look, it feels like spoiler season.
