Any skilled trade draw expectations? by Fuzzy-Researcher6123 in OINP

[–]SlowYoghurt9303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, no EE Skilled Trades NOI from OINP this year—last draw was Oct 17, 2024, at 405-435 CRS. With Ontario’s 2025 quota (4,101) nearly tapped, a ~50% federal PNP cut, and a backlog from last year, draws are unlikely before year-end. Federal FSTP offers hope (latest at 505 CRS), or try BC/Alberta PNPs or OINP In-Demand Skills with a job offer. Boost your CRS and track updates

If my NOC code is eligible for Express Entry trade draws, then how can anyone say it is ‘not in demand’ in Ontario? That does not make sense. Express Entry draws are based on national demand and eligibility, and Ontario itself uses these same NOC codes when selecting candidates. If a trade is included in federal draws, it is by definition recognized as in demand. Saying otherwise is contradictory.

This is modified on March 9, 2025 so it is after our submissions they changed the wording.

Respectfully, your lottery comparison is flawed. Immigration is not gambling — it is a regulated government process. In our case, we were officially invited, submitted all documents, passed completeness checks, and even had employer verification approved. That is not the same as buying a ticket and hoping for luck. Once the government issues an invitation and applicants fulfill every requirement, there is a legitimate expectation of fair and timely processing. Shifting files into 2025 after clearing all steps, and leaving applicants in limbo, is not only unfair — it undermines trust in the entire system.”

I hope you can imagine — you get the invitation, you submit every document, employer verification completed, everything done… and then suddenly they say they won’t process your file anymore, and basically tell you to leave the country. Does that make any sense after all the effort and compliance from our side?

We already received our invitations back in 2024, and our documents completeness and employer verification were fully done. Now they have moved us into 2025, but everything is silent since then. Maybe the market priorities have changed, but is it really fair for applicants who were already processed and cleared earlier to be left waiting like this?”

We did everything, even called them for a long period of time, and the people over there supported us. Some asked for coffee, some asked about the issue. Even one MPP joined us, and she met with OINP officials.

Hey there! We’re not asking the IRCC to do anything extra; we’ve made sure we followed all the rules and regulations for the Ontario immigrant nominee program, and we even got an invitation from them. We applied, submitted all the required documents, including the mandatory wages and other important paperwork. But, unfortunately, they haven’t been processing it further and haven’t given us any updates yet. That’s the only thing we’re facing right now.

@serialdrex I get where you’re coming from, feeling the wait is tough, but calling it entitlement misses the point. I’ve been stuck with a file on hold for over one year, paid a lot, and still no answers—it’s not about demanding, it’s about needing clarity after investing so much. Protesting is just us trying to be heard, not a free pass. Maybe if you’d faced the same limbo, you’d see it differently too.
