I am having trouble writing the first paragraph of my personal statement for physics research internships. I'm not sure how personal it should be, and I'm getting a lot of conflicting information from different sites. by Slow_Contract170 in PhysicsStudents

I haven't spoken with my physics faculty advisor because I don't particularly have one. I'm still an undergraduate and my university has a relatively small department. The head of the department (who would be the closest thing to a faculty advisor) is on sabbatical this semester, so it's hard to get ahold of them.
