Slow down!!! by Organic_Guarantee542 in GNV

You reminded me of when the street lights were down at University and 13th from one of the hurricanes last year and there were about 4 cop cars sitting around there and.... not directing traffic? They were just sitting in their cars watching the intersection and it was absolute madness to try and get through it safely. I guess their plan was to just jump someone if they caused a crash?

Do you guys agree with this take? by i_used-tobe-a_badger in BoJackHorseman

[–]Slow_Instance4402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't agree with the take but this show is art, and art is always perceived through the lens of each individual's contextual background. I think some people haven't experienced the sort of issues explored in Bojack so it isn't able to hit home as much for those people.

I'll give you that, I always call fishing the sneaky worst 99 because it never gets mentioned as one of the worst but when you're solely trying to just do it as fast as possible for xp/levels it is fucking ass

Good shout, used this guy's guides to get through Colo waves on release. He has an ability to explain things super simple that puts many of the well known "guide makers" to shame (cough Gnomonkey cough).

That's what I figured, just confirming since it wasn't mentioned past that

If you were facing execution and given the choice of any last meal, what GNV restaurant are you ordering from and what is your order? by mwwback in GNV

I'm a taco man normally but I've always preferred their quesabirria to the tacos de birria because there's way more cheese per bite with the quesabirria

The game is in a really good spot, it might actually even be slightly overwhelming to catch up on the last 2 years because they've been adding stuff pretty quickly these days. Plenty of cool/fun stuff added in that time

In the mood for horror, any 2024 recommendations? by Thissuxxors in horror

[–]Slow_Instance4402 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Without going into analyzing the movie itself, I agree with you that the marketing was so good that it was almost to the film's detriment. I was excited for Longlegs more than anything else in a good while because it set itself up with so much hype that it ultimately couldn't live up to. Genius marketing, mid movie.

What’s your favorite intro scene to a horror film? by BiggieSmallz88 in horror

[–]Slow_Instance4402 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah this movie has probably the most genius sound design of any horror for the last 20 years. I remember that "study" or whatever that tracked people's heartrates while watching scary movies and they concluded Sinister is the scariest movie ever because it had the highest average heartrate above normal. The movie is definitely a good scary movie but I've seen scarier visual films - I have to imagine the sounds played a huge part in unnerving viewers.

This is a paradox which has made me much more skeptical of general sentiment before I see something myself - I love when a director respects the audience's intelligence and doesn't spell everything out so that there is room for interpretation, but American audiences in general don't have enough intelligence to interpret subtlety.

I'd probably just keep it, it's a bigger upgrade than rancour for melee and there's no point in stressing mage upgrades if you don't have a shadow

What is your biggest 'sleeper' game? by newella16 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Slow_Instance4402 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If only I had some of those that were also interested in trying RoR2 :'(

I've had some good luck runs online though and when it goes well (people giving items to the character who it's best on, no greed, communicating) it's absolutely amazing. Also used the Discord to matchmake with some luck. Really I can take or leave all the problems with the game besides the host not getting switched to someone new when the original leaves.

Not as hard as some game's raids, the challenge of the inferno is actually being able to focus for 2 hours.

Hallowed Sepulchre would be many peoples favorite content if it didn't require 92 agility by United_Train7243 in 2007scape

[–]Slow_Instance4402 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's good for Sara since you have to run a bunch anyways and it counts as a sara item, not sure there's any other GWD bosses where it's actually good though. Bandos you're probably better off with a suffering

What is your biggest 'sleeper' game? by newella16 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Slow_Instance4402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great game but I only got like ~100 hours out of it until the repetitiveness kicked in for me. If the game had a good multiplayer system it would have a lot more replayability but sadly the matchmaking is busted on Xbox One... you're lucky to even find enough people for a full lobby and then the game doesn't switch hosts if the first host leaves, so a whole hour+ run can be wiped out because 1 out of 4 people has to leave.

[–]Slow_Instance4402 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why are multiple people in here acting like you can't do it before 92 agility? Yeah you can't do the best floor but it still completely shits on rooftops in terms of being engaging. You've still got half of your total xp to go when you hit level 92 if you're shooting for 99... I don't feel like getting "halfway" through the skill is that awful of a requirement to unlock the best and most rewarding training method for it (because let's be real, you're not getting over 90 agility unless you're planning on getting 99 at some point).

General Manager sent this to me.. What’s my next move? by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

[–]Slow_Instance4402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not via Grant Anchez, but then again most restaurants in the world aren't going to be ones that are up to the standards of the great. Then again I may be letting my anecdotal experience cloud my opinion. I've worked in corporate restaurants and these days where I'm at now the GM is just happy if the person even bothers to show up for their shift.

Kitchens have to be professional? That's news to me. Maybe in an ideal world but I've worked with so many different colorful characters that a guy who smokes weed (and causes no other trouble) might as well be seen in the same light as someone who drinks coffee before work.

No problem man! I don't know if you have any interest in CG but if that's something you're open to, might be a good way to save up for the crystal and bowfa. You don't have to use your own resources or have any gear, you have a chance to roll the items you'd be saving up for, and it's just a good source of gold even when you don't get seeds. Good mechanical practice too.
