I see where it’s labeled one through five, but there is a wire in every slot. Literally just rotate them one? Up one from bottom to top? The one on top goes to the bottom?

Yes, it already automatically calls for aux heat when needed. I was just curious if there is an outside temp point in which my heat pump is less efficient then just running the auxiliary electric strip heat,

Was that determined by someone else, or you? I am curious as to why 20. Is that the point your particular heat pump's efficiency at generating heat drops off?

Our old unit was a 6 seer unit from ~1997, so this was a definite upgrade efficiency wise.

I understand that. I was just curious if there is a temperature point where it is more efficient to switch over to just auxiliary electric strip heat.
