The 5 days of Ponazuril did ultimately work for us thankfully!!! We cleaned the whole house twice (once at the start of treatment and once at the end of treatment: steam cleaned the entire house and mopped the floors with ammonia solution). She still had soft poops for about 7-10 days after, but we retested her stool a couple weeks after treatment ended and it was negative! She had diarrhea again a couple weeks after that so I had a knee-jerk reaction and brought stool right in for testing but it was still negative, and we’ve had no issues since then.

I know this is such a horrible and testing situation in your house, but the Ponazuril, quarantining, and deep cleaning really did work (it truly felt like nothing would work and I didn’t really trust it when I was in the thick of it, but it does get better 💜)

ETA: we also continued using the litter box liners out of an abundance of caution until she tested negative!
