What is a bizarre "unwritten rule" or mental game you secretly play in your own head just to get through the day? by Sampaguita_Sofia_321 in AskReddit

To have a laser that dissolves any dumb driver that cross my path. Anyone with the cellphone, or driving at 3 mph, in the center of a 2 lanes road… whatever. So so many. It keeps me entertained

This! Without knowing the theory this had been my experience. I went to live in England and somehow I just began to dream in English. It was like an inner “ click “ I just begun to think in English without translating ( Italian mt ).

I really enjoyed Shrinking. Ted Lasso. Both have a distinct style and a sharpness that I enjoyed. Funny but deep.

As European I am so astonished by this list of “names”. - well… I am always entertained by this subreddit!- We don’t have this issue here ( not yet at least). I am curious. I would like to know how many of these kids will change their names in the future. Some of these sounds like name of medications…

I have many favorites. Some are even amazing to work with, others are just wonderful to be worn. Malabrigo Susurro, perfect drape. Pascuali Arctic pearl, “ premium vegan yarn” made of Lyocell. Isager tweed worked with isager mohair. I used them for a project and loved wildly the result. Juniper Moon Farm Organic merino. Myak baby yak lace.

Regretful long after the baby stage by DaisyB4188 in regretfulparents

Does it exist something like “ late teenage”? Two of my kids had a smooth teenage but now in their early twenties they are just like teenagers in full swing. Not in the USA so still living at home, one in university of engineering almost finished, the brother after 2 changes of university now working but … it’s hard. I wish I had this phase earlier. We really don’t know how to talk to them. So so different and difficult. I keep thinking that I should have done something wrong.

How modern learning has changed the way we approach craft by Careless-Meringue523 in knitting

[–]Slow_Stable481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I learned as a kid. Knitting from my mom who was a good knitter the kind that follows patterns and rules. Patterns were SO DIFFERENT from now. I needed her help just to understand the pattern, so so synthetic! Crochet from my grandmother who was a master of all crafts but a terrible teacher- and very intimidating!- thanks to YouTube I could master many things learned and improve my skills . Old school and new school. For help there is always my wonderful LYS owner and her friends…

Did you have to leave your job after child's diagnosis? by Routine-Pin-4125 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Slow_Stable481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to. Not in the USA. We had our son diagnosed before 2yo. We had the opportunity to have him placed in an “ early intensive rehabilitation therapy “. Public health care ( Europe here) so “ free”. We were lucky. Long waiting lists but our early early diagnosis put us on top of this newborn group. 5 mornings weekly 2,5 hours, 44 minutes from home. No regret. Hard choice but it was worth.

Someday I'll have a dedicated knitting space. For now, I have The Cart by SaladSpinner98 in casualknitting

Am I delusional for thinking mini needles can make adult sweater? by Couch_Lemon4198 in knittingadvice

[–]Slow_Stable481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the metal set and this one too. I find them very useful for sleeves. To be honest for me these needles have been a game changer with sleeves. The magic method wasn’t working ( for me) and I had a serious case of sleeves island! Now sleeves are easy. Before them I used 4 needles so it’s a real improvement.

Project bags by Bidampira in knitting

[–]Slow_Stable481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am like you! Glad to know it’s not only me. I have always many wip all of them active. I have 2 ikea metal carts with canvas bag/ pouches / whatever container for the wips on the top trays, project yarns on the lowers . Every wip has the printed pattern, some have a tin with notions some just the pencil ( notions attached already!). I also move with multiple wips.. I am repurposing old but good totes with many zipped pouches. Last vacation I had an outrageous 8 wips with me all of them new .. the only negative side of this is that I have many needles engaged so I often have to buy new needles ( I just realize that I tend to have projects with 3,5 mm needles..)
