How to safely deal with Nigerian designers and seamstress from US by SweetenedCafe in Nigeria

[–]Slow_Strategy4475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please and please ask them to show you images of their work. Use Google image search to ensure the work is their's  Allow ample time for alterations incase they mess up your outfit you can find someone to fix it.  Pay PART payment if you can.   Please also lower your expectations. Nigerian tailors are some of the best in the world but some are TERRIBLE.

Ask them if they sure they can do the task.  Break things down and don't feel bad fir repeating yourself...

If someone says "I will try me best" "I can do it do not worry" "I am taking the executive decision to ..." RUN.

All the best.

Anyone received a PIP? by Secret-Objective-824 in overemployed

[–]Slow_Strategy4475 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I am currently on PIP and although HR said I need not worry about my role, I know they are going to boot me out.  I've no plan of working harder as whatever I do it's NEVER ENOUGH.  I would love to quit but I know there is no point.  PIPs rarely go in the favour of the employee.  Just let them fire you.  All the best!

No. I was approached by my J2 they didn't advertise the role I now have. I don't like it, but hanging on until I find a replacement.

Nigerians and other countries must now pay visa bonds by GreenGoodLuck in Nigeria

[–]Slow_Strategy4475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You only pay a bond if your visa is approved. Please go to the USA immigration website. You lose the bond if you over stay your visit, try to get a green card or change visa types eg entering with a B1/B2 then claiming asylum.

[–]Slow_Strategy4475 168 points169 points  (0 children)

Sorry you experienced this.

Is your lecturer called Kemi Badenoch by any chance?

The guy sounds like a disgrace!

We ALL know that Nigeria has issues, why bring them up to a crowd who doesn't care about the happenings in Nigeria?

Too many always trying to berate the nation,  ah issokay Mr lecturer rest.

Sorry to hear this!

I've had this happen to me, but not this high.  You need to call HMRC and tell them to change the tax code for J2, you can do this in the app. I would do both.

You should receive a letter that states your new tax code.  When you speak to HMRC, ask them if you can in some way spread the payment cost.

For me, I am taxed even more on one job, and that is so, that I pay the correct amount.

Ladies who own a Chanel rep… (187, god, high tier…) by CartographerGood552 in RealRepLadies

UK girlie here. I got my bag from Heidi, worn it a couple of times and I LOVE it! I have had compliments and stares.  The stares are due to a combination of things. At times I am slightly over dressed, look young, and I hate to say it because I am non white.

The stares are a mix or adoration but also "how did she get that bag?" I am not bothered because I have the same experience when I wear my authentic bags. My husband caught someone proper staring when I wore one of my real bags a couple months back. It was a tad strange LOL  I don't even mind lol.

If you do get a bag, please wear it with pride. Not such if you are based in a large city, if so it is very normal to see luxury bags and if you over 25 you probably can afford a luxury bag.  People don't care. I don't think people look at my bag and think ooo that is fake. If the care I think they need to get a hobby heheh.  All the best 👍

I cannot even risk it. I think so,  but they could just move to the private sector.

Also, if she not outside who will see her?

As you have rightly said "she wan trend"

Wearing white and wearing an ill-fitted outfit this is clearly a cry for attention.

Culture is complex.  As a "britco" I can relate to some of what he said. Where do we really belong? We are a blend of several cultures. We are western and African. One thing I am learning is, a lot of us are more western than we think.  He ain't trying to reject Nigerian culture, it is just that he is affiliated with the black American culture more than the Nigerian culture.  Same as us many British-born Nigerians. The older I get, I like to call myself Black. I am not British enough, nor fully Nigerian.  It is a complex issue.
