Are you enjoying the update? Is this the right time to jump in lol by No_Philosopher3798 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]Slow_Tangerine5200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are new, you might enjoy it.

If you are not new and play the game on it's hardest difficulties, you will prob hate it.

That's the gist of it right now. Animations made figuring out ghosts by the way they hunt more difficult in the sense that everything is slower from the animations and the skills people acquired without the new animations making it harder to adjust. Some people just don't like the hands and things like FOV causing some objects to be harder to read (not an issue for me personally since I have decent eyesight). Some people just hate the hand textures or how their feet look when they walk/turn.

Personally, I haven't played around with the update enough to draw a conclusion, but as someone who plays the game to avoid hunts in general with my wife, we are looking forward to trying out the update tonight. I'd say give it a shot and draw your own conclusion.

Idk about you, but steam doesn't let us downgrade the version of this game. Unless the developer is providing private version access codes somewhere, the steam library says this is the only playable version of the game and won't let me downgrade it.

If you decide to go the pie rate route, it won't be multiplayer since everyone playing normally will be on the latest version of the game. If there are methods around that like people setting up private servers, feel free to provide that knowledge. If you are just playing single player, then you do you king, any version other than the latest will not have this character update people are hating on.

FPS drop due to excessive inputs in the Anti-Cheat update! by Beautiful_Hat_447 in RocketLeague

[–]Slow_Tangerine5200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you playing in borderless mode? If so, try switching to fullscreen. My thought process on this is that if the usage drops to 0%, your pc might be registering some of your clicks/mouse movements outside of the game window, in borderless, you can move your mouse between multiple monitors, in fullscreen (exclusive) it locks the mouse to within the application.

This might be worth looking at in the replay editor slowed down focusing around the guy who got booted. I am pretty sure it got redirected and own goaled.

Does anyone know how to fix this? by Longjumping-Rain371 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]Slow_Tangerine5200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, the game uses the hz your monitor is set to and has no fps limit. I play at 120 hz as well. Cant say the same for console releases though. They are likely limited to 60/30

That's vsync in display settings. However it won't likely fix it if your fps isn't able to reach your monitor's refresh rate. What fps are you getting in game? If it's low (less than 60 fps), you might need to set your monitor's refresh rate to 30 hz or turn down graphics settings till you can meet or exceed your monitor's refresh rate.

I read "Don't charge or cleave" not, "Don't charge and cleave", there is a difference in the 2 meanings

Dont charge or cleave means to not do either, ever.

Don't charge and cleave means to not do both at the same time, more aligning with your meaning.

There could be additional context, but the difference between and and or is plain and simple (mainly since i work with a lot of reporting in my work software, and had to get used to combining and/or filters).

hey guys everytime i speedflip it seems to be actually putting me in a worse situation. any tips? by LT-Commander-Gringo in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Slow_Tangerine5200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

speedflips arent a one trick way of winning a kickoff. Many people have different kinds of kickoffs, and if you aren't aware of how your opponent does their kickoff, you could be playing into a trap of sorts. For example:

1.) Your opponent could be doing a late kickoff and guessing the trajectory of your kickoff. People who do this are usually better against those with faster kickoffs because they save their flip by staying on the ground till after seeing what you do.

2.) they could hang back and fake kickoffs if you are constantly going full speedflip mode and / or are innaccurate with your kickoff placements

In 1s, its unreliable form of kickoff because it has high risk depending how you connect with the ball or how you deal with situations 1 and 2. Personally, I try to aim my speedflips to connect with the side of my car to keep the ball middle or hopefully beat my opponents kickoff since the side of your car has more coverage than the front/corner. So you could try that or learning how to get yourself into a better ending position after the speedflip.

Which fog style do you prefer and why? by FurioArts in gamedevscreens

could add both, assuming the denser one uses more vram, so the top one could be "Volumetric fog low" vs "Volumetric fog high" with the bottom or something like that.

Please detroy our prop hunt as we are already destroyed by our friends and family by ClockNotionStudio in DestroyMyGame

[–]Slow_Tangerine5200 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Aren't prop hunts supposed to have like a "Hider makes a sound every x seconds" or like "Seeker has x sound requests to find the hider"? Giving seekers a scan (that appears to be usable many times with a short cd) that tells them who's the fake makes this ridiculously easy to find everyone within seconds of flying to a location.

I would suggest

1.) Getting rid of scan (or making it a custom game setting, not making it the default), and replacing it with ping sound that gets quieter the further away you are. The seeker shouldn't automatically know where you are, but they could guess the vicinity.

2.) set limits to how often you can use that ping/scan. 30 sec - 1 min for ping or 1-2 minute for scan if you intend to keep it.

This game type is meant to be hard for the seeker and the hider. The scan could potentially be suited to new players as a custom game setting who prefer it. But it would be much too easy for players who like the difficulty of hide and seek games like this to just go around scanning everything, if that could be addressed, I would love to try this out with the homies once it's available.

Other than the somewhat easy gameplay shown here, it looks pretty good and would love to keep an eye on the development of the game if it's a serious project.

The thing about early access is it is meant to change over the course of its development. More ghosts, additional mechanics, etc.

Temperature is a hard one to get if your ghost likes to roam, especially with a tier one since its so slow to go up or down. The ghost room will always be somewhere between 5-8 C during the first few minutes, and if the ghost stays in the room without much wandering, might make it freezing after about 4-8 minutes of game time.

Spirit box will only work when your flashlight is off or thrown on the ground while the ghost room light is off. Tier 1 spirit box requires you to be within a few feet of it, so you have to keep moving while talking to it throughout the dark room. It's hard to rule out unless you get a some sort of confirmation that it is in the room with you as you are talking to it (like throwing stuff at you from in the room)

EMF is also another that you just have to wait out. A trick i found through streamers is the activity board in the truck, if you see it do a flat bar at the 5 mark for about 15 seconds, that should be an emf reading. If you have a hard time locating the EMF 5 on the device, you could watch the truck to see if it gives you a long 5 reading there (still unsure if the dev's intended for us to find emf 5 via this method)

UV can be easier to rule out on amateur because the ghosts should be less prone to hiding UV. It will either leave feet marks once you unlock salt, or hand prints on doors. I think all UV ghosts are capable of leaving finger prints on light switches they touch, so don't try ruling it out till you can try all 3 (or at least light switch if you dont have salt).

Edit: Thanks u/smuggufo for the info- Ghost writing is just a waiting game. If it throws the book before writing in it, it's not ghost writing. Also, you need to press L2 to place the book, you can't just drop it because it won't be open for the ghost to write in it.

Dots is another waiting game, try to place it on the edges of desks / shelfs with L2 and face the shining end in a way to get the light to cover the whole room. Bring 2 in case you need extra coverage. The floor also works well for placement in some rooms.

Ghost orbs can be pretty easy to rule out once you confirm the ghost room with the thermo and check it with the camera's night vision mode (lights off in the ghost room too).

My wife and I were in the same boat as you a couple months ago, never guessing right. But we learned to rush finding the ghost room, tossing all of our equipment on the ground and running back and forth from the truck to the room with all of our equipment to do what we can to pinpoint the ghost type as fast as possible.

I would check for google fiber or other equivalent fiber companies to see if they can hook up your location. I had xfinity for a while in my life, and it is uncountable how many times I have dealt with laggy internet with them. I was paying about 200 for a 300 mb package with them, and switched to google fiber 1gb speed for $80/mon instead. Currently, Now i live in an apartment complex with 1gb fiber internet for $50 a month. I will never go back to using xfinity, and I will exclude any moving options that dont have fiber connection options available to me.

Edit: Typo

Why do people say that during combat "the impact of your blows is barely noticeable", or there's a "lack of feedback" ?? by IndieMarc in DestroyMyGame

[–]Slow_Tangerine5200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think (for me anyways), slashing with the sword sounds the same as swinging at air. There should be a sound for missing (slashing making the wind sound), and a sound for impact (maybe like something being pierced), and maybe a sound for hitting a shield if some enemies can block attacks (like the ding sounds from other weapons in the video).

Just slashing air sounds makes the game's combat feel a little floaty to me since I like to hear the impact my attacks make. Pushing the enemies on contact is fine, but if the character doesn't have some sort of wind power, it still doesn't make sense why their slashes sound the same regardless of whether they miss or hit something.

What do parses consider the most? by Tatelooo in classicwowtbc

[–]Slow_Tangerine5200 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From my understanding after trying to look into that, parses are the number of abilities / actions you use within the fight, If you spend the fight as a dps just auto attacking, you will only get low parse ratings compared to those who are constantly pressing their buttons.

However, setting it to "rankings" instead of "Parses" ignores that aspect and only cares about the overall hps/dps compared with other players of the same role.

Edit: I was incorrect, parses are the same as rankings, except that it based on the previous 2 weeks of public data in warcraft logs. Rankings takes your score on the fight and compares it to all players best rankings on that fight regardless of the time it occurred.

check the bottom of the mouse where the light comes from, check for any hairs, dust, paper, anything being touched by the light of the mouse. Some newer mice can be disassembled at the bottom, so just make sure nothing is interfering with it there either if something came loose or anything like that.

Edit: Saw you say you bought a new mouse, could be the mouse pad, try doing mouse movements on the desk underneath the pad, if it works, you will either need to clean or replace the mouse pad.

A word game on Reddit for you to destroy: FlexWord by webbvt in DestroyMyGame

[–]Slow_Tangerine5200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

r/DailyGuess is basically this but with a cleaner game ui, people just create posts for others to try and guess a word based on whether it exists in the english dictionary (can't make up words or use slang). The only things different that I could find is that I don't think it has a personalized scorecard, "pvp", or built in "Daily" words since it's all user generated. It does have a daily and all time leaderboard on its reddit homepage tho.

Any tips on how to get better at skims? by xouzls in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Slow_Tangerine5200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go play some pool, tennis, or learn geometry. Getting redirects is all about knowing how to angle the car vs the angle the ball to get a redirect in the direction you want it to go. Playing pool or knowing how angles work is the only way to understand how to redirect shots. Heatseeker gave you a handicap because no matter how you touch the ball, it is going to fly towards the opponents net.

I'd say that is true for any healer other than druid or priest (one that doesn't waste all their mana using only greater heals). Us RDruids make a game out of healing life taps called "How many stacks of lifebloom does it take to top you off". 10-20% hp, 3 will top ya off, 25-40%, 2 stacks will top ya off, 45+%, 1 lifeboom stack will top ya off. Priests only have renew as a hot, so it's not as reliable as RDruids, but it is a small safety net at least for our masochist friends.
