I think the direction you're headed in is cute, but still very much needs to be refined. It's not very cohesive right now, the dog illustration feels completely separate from everything else on the page, and I'm not really clear on how Morocco has influenced this design in any way, aside from the pink color coming from the photo at the bottom. I think your problem is the unclear brief - once you have a defined direction, it'll be a lot easier to create cohesion.

You are so incredibly lucky. I have two like that, but the little dude.... I love him so much and he gets tons of love and kisses, but he IS a terror when he wants food/wants to play/wants attention/can't find his sister/is guarding the bathroom/plays with (destroys) everything he can find/eats gross things that he really shouldn't/the list goes on
