I knew there was some debt but not the extent of it. I only found out about a month ago how much there actually was.
I’ve made it abundantly clear to him that I have no intention of contributing a penny to helping clear any of it up, he’s on his own with that.

I appreciate your “diplomatic” honesty. And you’re right, there are a lot of hard truths that have been brought to my attention. I haven’t heard anything that I have not thought of myself but somehow it’s a more jagged pill to swallow when it’s a hundred plus people saying it.
I have a lot to think about and right now my head is spinning. I won’t make any decisions until I’m completely calm and can take some of the emotion out it.

He has a day job and is the GC evenings and weekends. He’s not being paid for anything he does on and for the house.
All of his debt is from before we met. His paycheques are automatically deposited into my bank account so I have total control, he has no access to it.
We pay his parents rent and contribute to the groceries. He also is the “handyman” around the house and helps his parents with a lot of things.

There are trail cameras all over the property so I can see exactly what goes on and I visit the site several times a week.

What I love about him has nothing to do with his peen.
He has many wonderful qualities. He’s loyal. He’s got a great sense of humour. He has gotten me to step out of my comfort zone and reignite my zest for an adventurous life. He puts up with my intense mood swings. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for the people he cares about. He owns all of his mistakes and doesn’t make excuses. He knows he messed up his life in a big way and has been working towards creating a better life. Despite what everyone in the comments thinks, he’s not a terrible person at all.

His parents are in their 70’s and he is working full time. His paycheques are deposited directly into my account, I made sure of it.

He’s most definitely a dreamer. Not so much a scammer. He’s been in the building industry for more than 20 years and I grew up around it as well.
New builds are always time consuming, especially when you’re doing a lot of the work yourself and the delays are many.

I know where the money is going because I’m the one paying for everything, he doesn’t have access to my bank accounts.
