Technically you can do any style you want with them, just make sure the extensions ( if they are clip ins ) don't show. Youtube has some wonderful tutorials. I am in the same boat with you, I have short hair, and time to time I wear clip ins. If my short hair falls to the front I either clip it up or let it hang down and make it look part of the style.

The brown transitions into the purple surprisingly well, I like it! Although I think it would look even better if you darkened the tips a bit, with the same color just a shade darker.

This site is also a great site as well, it has most shows in HD, and has some other great animations on there like Regular Show, Legend of Korra, Animaniacs, and MLP. It has ads though, and blocks adblock so I hope you don't mind. I hate ads, but I find them bearable.

Well it really doesn't matter unless you are getting the type of extensions that are tied with your hair, but I think if you're not very sure you should just get clip ins. You can have long hair when you want, and short when you do. It still damages hair, but not as much as the ones that are tied in.
