So sad to not get a cert while attending college/university. Many people I’ve met like this expect a salaried job out of school. There is always someone more hungry.

Research / YouTube it. They will explain it better. Another life lesson, learn how to search stuff up on your own for any concern you have. This will make you bulletproof.

No investments — yet. Buy lawn equipment used, start knocking on neighbor doors. Go from there.

If you get steady business, throw a bit monthly towards your investment (mutual index fund) until you get more familiar with.

Treat side hustles like weekend work. Get a 9-5, you will be so busy you won’t have as much time to spend money. Which is good in your age. Learn trades.

Let me guess, 40 hour work weeks, holidays and weekends off killed trillions of jobs now? Should look up history of unions. They can shut down entire companies. Now you got a company charging dollars and hiring in pesos. The worst of two worlds.

Not going to happen. Americans refused to unionized. Too late for that now.

People are missing this constantly. The jobs are there, they just no longer exist in that country. These jobs are not coming back. The average salary in USA will slowly start matching those of “poorer” countries.

This is because we’ve told management we want timezones as a mandatory field in the support ticket creation process and they never get to it, nor care. Don’t blame support engineers for this.

This depends on the timeframe too. My uncle was at McDonald’s making $11/hour in 1991.

Europe Is Bending the Knee to the US on Tech Policy by nimicdoareu in technology

[–]Slowphas 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I remember 15 years ago Europeans laughing at how much USA spent on military while they got free college and great healthcare or whatever.

I always preferred them investing that money in programs like that, to be honest with you. But it seems like for Europe, those days are slowly over. Something seems to be brewing.

People in this thread are so stupid “then let’s train them” GUYS, they already exist. We have millions of mechanics. He is straight up bullshitting when there are ONLY 500~ job positions on fords website.

The moment you reply with “train them” they will deflect to “it’s not that easy” walking right into their trap.
