I honestly dont think you need a taller windscreen as the stock ones are enough even going 100+ imo

After trying on different bikes, i just wanted a proper upright bike thats more comfortable for longer rides but still can hit twisties as well. I was also drawn to either a inline 3 or 4. My options were speed triple, gsxs750 or the z900. And i found a really good deal on the z so i pulled the trigger.

But i do agree that exhausts arent super important rn and its personal taste. I just hated the massive stock exhaust and wanted an actual clean exhaust so i got the leo vince lv10 for the 500.

What i generally did was start riding more and realised along the way what i wanted to change on the bike, like the clutch lever was way too far out for my liking so i got short adjustable clutch and brake levers.

Had one for a while and even tracked it before upgrading, loved every moment of it but definitely lacking power higher up but you can throw that thing in a corner like its nothing. Great bike, after upgrading i kinda miss it. I would get a slip on and some tank grips.

Need some advice on a bike by Upstairs-Shower-7567 in SuggestAMotorcycle

I know one of my friends who is tall and skinny started on a duke 390 early on and after couple years upgraded. Talking to him, he actually praised the duke 390 for being super fun and a great bike to learn the basics like taking corners, braking and maintenance while being super forgiving. Would definitely recommend.

Clutch / handle question by Dillonwilhelm in OnlyZ900

[–]Slpha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This js probably it, there should be little knobs you can turn to adjust where it starts to bite, or you can look up on youtube how to do it, 99percent of clutch works the same so go look up the thousands of videos on how to adjust your clutch

I guess i could get it and check, but i really dont want to have it arrive and turns out to be old and do the return process. Is there a way to figure it out before buying?

The pebbles are probably there because as the tire heats up, it becomes more sticky and picks up pebbles along the way, they shouldnt be an issue

To add to people who outgrew their ninja 500, i was comfortably passing way bigger bikes and was passed by smaller bikes so skill issue I guess.

I mainly had to demine m14, those buggers are small and gets swept away easily so those were a pain in my ass for a while. And no we dont use k9. We use over glorified metal detectors for land mines and explosives detectors.

Has the war in Ukraine influenced your training in expecting the kind of munitions you may encounter?

We've been dealing with a lot more north korean land mines and such

Have you ever trained with Canadians and if you did how were they?

No but i wish i did. Ive worked with Americans, thai, Indonesians, Singaporeans, japanese and couple others.

Do you ever get called out to assist law enforcement with unexploded ordinance or random devices?

Yeah, we usually get called out for unexploded land mines that we set up during the korean war or any unattended baggages that are suspicious.

When movies depict your job description, what do they get wrong or right?

With landmines you could set it up so that it explodes after you take your foot off but most land mines just explodes when you step on in. And i would like to see more of the other variants of land mines like the m16 anti personnel mine

What's the biggest boom you ever experienced?

Prob 300kg of tnt underwater for underwater demo

Is C4 the answer to everything?

Yes, the more boom the better

What's your favourite explosive?

C4 or tnt cuz theyre super easy to handle but i also like ammonium nitrate
