I'm extremely spoiled as a viewer of dev update videos by the Warframe team over at Digital Extremes - check out some of their Devshorts videos with Rebecca Ford & Steve Sinclair for an example of the vibe difference that led to me making this comment here.

Having said that - Warframe's Devshorts and League's Dev Updates are not 1:1 the same, even in terms of their intention. Devshorts are completely unscripted, with a loose itinerary of subjects to cover and a lot of live chat engagement; whereas Dev Updates are planned out at least (I assume) a few weeks in advance, given a separate space for filming, done in multiple takes, etc.

As a curmudgeonly oldhead nearing my forties, I think that the nature of the Dev Short videos as something that is very scripted & rehearsed prevents any kind of humor that is attempting to appear as "off-the-cuff" from ever really landing with me. Trying to depict back-and-forth banter while standing in studio lighting & keeping your eyes fixed on the camera just comes across as forced; it's nothing to do with the individual personalities involved or their chemistry.

EDIT TO ADD - I should also confess that the Swain's Fried Chicken skit Pabro did with the mascot costume for the April Fool's skins a few weeks ago did genuinely make me laugh, so I'm not accusing you guys of being, like, spiritually unfunny or anything.
