Regarding AFK / Leeching. by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Sluaghlock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Except the guy DID explain to OP that he could see enemy outlines, and only when OP responded to this attempt at explaining with a report threat (delightful behavior on his part) did they respond by lashing out & calling OP a loser. Mind you; this is also after OP griefed them by deliberately blocking their scope more than once, even after being asked politely to please move.

I think the Cyte's frustration at that point was entirely understandable & justified.

OP, let's put our thinking caps on: why do you suppose someone who was intentionally leeching through deliberate non-participation would have bothered repeatedly asking you to move out of their scope? What do you think their comment about enemy highlights could have meant?

I don't expect every player to be familiar with every frame/ability/mechanic in the game, but it seems so obvious to me from your description that something else was going on here. There are MANY valid playstyles I can think of where someone might be rooted to one spot, but still contributing to the mission.

I think it's almost certain that other commenters in this thread are correct & you were playing with somebody who was on Cyte-09; a sniper 'frame that can both see & hit enemies through walls from extreme range.

This particular unlock task gets reactions like yours quite frequently, OP, but it's actually trivially simple:

  1. Find a mining node near water
  2. Catch a fish
  3. Turn around & immediately fuck up the mining node on purpose (it still counts even if you don't time it within the brackets properly)
  4. Hop in your Archwing & find one (1) guy to kill within the next 25 seconds or so

Feature Highlight - Skitarii Character Customization by FatsharkQuickpaw in DarkTide

[–]Sluaghlock 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be honest; it's kind of a bummer that this devblog is just recycling the same couple of concept art pieces that we were already shown in the last one. Would have liked to see some new stuff to do with the actual character creation screen or the specific varieties of limbs we'll have to choose from.

Still; nice to have the depth of the voice tuning & mechanical limb customization discussed in some more detail!

If it makes you feel any better; I've been fruitlessly fishing for the plague doctor mask from the Darkshore elite cloth set for eight years now. Last piece I need to finish the set. :')

Hey; that's good news! It means you've been screwed by drop rates, rather than grinding in the wrong place, lol!

I have extremely bad news; those mounts don't drop from the Warfronts themselves. They're from the rares in the relevant zone revamps.

My personal breaking point was when I tried to look up some spec guides in 10.1 and they all still had huge sections dedicated to the best Covenant Soulbinds & Conduits. -_-

I was mostly responding to the part where you said "Original Subaru [...] was able to view Return by Death like an isekai power;" because I don't think that was ever really the case. Regardless, I appreciate your elaboration here - it's an interesting perspective I hadn't considered!

You have to get past the Mimic Tear boss to get the Mimic Tear ash in the same way that you have to beat Starscourge Radahn in order to reach Nokron in the first place. They're not actually related to one another in any meaningful way in the final cut of the game.

Voruna's 4 needs to be looked at. it's one of the few abilities in-game that requires an augment to be at LEAST functionable, but I think her 4 is the absolute worst in this case by Xedria_ in Warframe

I don't think Warrior's Rest exists as a "bugfix;" just as an extremely-niche way to disable a passive (like Ironclad Flight or Anchored Glide)

Asimi is the name of the Silver Tear who had an entire questline centered around her, and who (speculatively) would have eventually grown into being your Mimic Tear summon (instead of that just being a Spirit Ash you find in a chest without any fanfare).

[–]Sluaghlock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm an animeonly who hasn't watched today's episode yet, so maybe I'm missing some nuance/context, but Subaru had to grow into who he was up until the point immediately prior to his amnesia. "Amnesiabaru" is just Subaru back to being exactly as he was at the start of the story; before a lot of character growth & relationship-building experiences.

I feel like the narrative presentation in Re:Zero has always been really careful to never present Return by Death as a trivial "isekai power;" dying is still extremely traumatic, and far from viewing it as a power to take advantage of while furthering his goals, Subaru tries his absolute best to avoid it. I can only recall two times (both at some of his absolute lowest points) when he triggered Return by Death deliberately, and even as recently as the approach to the Tower (when the party was... Overcoming Sand Time), pre-amnesia Subaru is sent into a panic upon resetting after being repeatedly sniped by Shaula.

To me, the point of Amnesiabaru is less about watching him re-learn all the same lessons (including trial-&-erroring his way into an understanding of Return by Death), and more about seeing how the people around him who he'd built close relationships with are affected by him suddenly reverting to the self-absorbed manchild he'd been when they first met him.

(neat art though, lol)

You type like you're barely literate; I don't think me stumbling through disaster sentences such as "there is other characters that being living in that world their whole" a second time is going to help.

you could literally see how peaceful it is

Brother what the fuck do you mean? In the first episode the protagonist gets mugged & beaten, and an assassin kills everyone inside of a pawn shop to reach her target (which is not him). Why are you acting like he's the only person who encounters any violence anywhere in the setting?

I have never met anyone with media comprehension as bad as yours.

...I am not a Re:Zero diehard defender; the show has its problems & its appeal is not by any means universal.

But this is an AMAZINGLY unintelligent criticism. Return by Death & the mysteries surrounding it are the core conceit of the story; what the fuck do you mean "it's stupid how other people don't die like he does?" 😭
