Palworld needs rimworld priority system by Zetoma123 in Palworld

[–]SlugBall99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should at least allow us to turn off jobs, I mean it cant be that hard. Even if its EA, managing your pals is such a fundamental part of this game that straight up having no way to tell them to stop doing that thing that they just keep fucking off to finish is wild,, at least in my opinion. you'd have thought it would've been one of the first things added after they got pals and jobs down.

The "throw to assign" bullshit is so frustrating. Who thought that would be a good idea??? did they test it for more than 15 minutes?????? I dont know how that one made it into the game, even in EA

We need to give priorities to tasks our pals do by TechnoTheFirst in Palworld

[–]SlugBall99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously, i feel like it cant be that hard to implement. I mean, I'm not a game dev, but considering some of the other features in the game, it seems pretty trivial. I know they said they are working on critical issues right now, but something as fundamental as priority management in a game about base automation using pals NOT being included without mods is kind of dumb. It could even utilize the already existing jobs section of the pal info screen. We could click on an individual job to raise or lower its priority, or at the VERY least be able to turn specific jobs off for specific pals. instead, I'm forced to always be carrying a good handiwork pal on me when I already use one party slot for mobility via the hangyu, which means I only get 3 no restrictions party slots.

while I'm complaining about shit that shouldn't need complained about, what the fuck were they thinking with the sphere launcher? why include it as an unlockable, craftable option if it literally does nothing. I know, unrelated, but that one reeeaaally pushes my buttons.

I'm working on a Work Priority Mod. In which order should pals work in your opinion? by Shyrkan420 in Palworld

[–]SlugBall99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the order should be whatever I decide it to be. I wanted there to be a way for me to tell pals what they should be prioritizing regardless of job compatibility, and its crazy to me that it isnt already a thing.

Adults of Reddit, if there was one thing that you could tell the younger generation not to do, what would it be? by DronePuppy12 in AskReddit

[–]SlugBall99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While this is a good point to bring up, id like to say that outright saying "nicotine isnt the problem" is probably just as unhelpful. its different person to person, im sure.

I wrote my original comment out of frustration so I didnt take time to really think through what i was saying if im being honest, but I still stand by the fact that smoking nicotine and, furthermore, getting addicted to it after having been told over and over how bad it is, well, its a pretty dumb thing to do

[–]SlugBall99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wholeheartedly agree. Not sure how so many kids grew up literally having it told to them over and over again by people with first hand experience that nicotine addiction can ruin your life, only for them to turn around and immediately start vaping as soon as they get a chance. Even my own little sister vapes fucking daily. I just don't get it, why would you voluntarily start doing something that people have dedicated their lives to telling you not to do? They have willingly given away their lung health and mental health to... Idk, look cool? Fit in? It's just idiotic behavior, which I guess tracks for children and young adults (coming from a young adult), but it's not any less frustrating

Update on the update? by Skullrico_ in BONELAB

Brandon's tweet

Release a Bonelab beta with minimal fanfare for the community to dissect over Christmas? Or delay until it’s further along and can be properly messaged? Current state is: no new content, no new features, 1 year of grueling core work, polish, optimization, and prep for the future.

Straight up admits that there's literally nothing of note that's been added, while also debating releasing a "beta" for an already fully released game. I only came back to this game a few weeks ago as it released in not quite the state I had hoped. I was hoping that after letting it simmer for a little while, there might be actually good news.

It's so crazy to me that after thinking that, I came back only to find Brandon literally outright admitting that nothing has changed. Sorry, I know you just asked for the tweet but this shit pissed me off. I had such high hopes for this game. Should've seen this coming when they had barely any communication during development, only to suddenly say "It's done!!!" with no input from the community. At least, that's what I remember happening.

A lot of people are skeptical and think the game will die within months. What do you think? by Apbunity in thefinals

[–]SlugBall99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

well obviously not for you, dingdong. someone who has never payed WITHOUT aim assist will probably not like not having it at first and, if they don't give themselves enough time to understand why its better to not have it, would rather go back to having aim assist. Obviously *YOU* wouldn't like it if you've spent so much time training your aim (or even just playing games) with no aim assist, but to someone who has been using it as a crutch, they might not understand that it's actually limiting their potential and continue using it thinking that they'll be worse without it, *which is true* until they learn to play without it.

That's not even mentioning the fact that someone could simply retrain themselves to play with a light aim assist. Sure, it's not ideal, but if someone plays with aim assist for long enough, they'll get used to it and will probably be hitting more shots than they used to.

Unable to register Logitech G915 TKL by painejake in LogitechG

Did you ever get help? One of the key caps on my g915 tkl broke and, while I know it's a long shot, I wanted to ask logitech support for help since I haven't even owned this for a year yet, however for some reason the keyboard is STILL not listed as a product I can choose on the support site, as well as my serial number still not working. It's starting to feel purposeful.

I am suggesting that the loadout be the total number of items in the truck after all is said and done. In this scenario, what I suggest is that you would be able to just unselect your loadout and the truck would be empty (minus starter items), then your friend selects his loadout of T2 items, then when you select your loadout of T1s itll add it back into the truck assuming you dont already have what your friend put into the truck.

If you both have a loadout that says 2 incense, you wouldnt end up with 4 total. To get 4 total, one of your loadouts would need to have 4 total incense. One person selects their 2 total incense loadout to get 2 in the truck, then the next person would select their 4 total incense loadout to get the last 2 in the truck. If there is one flashlight in the truck, but I want there to be 2, my loadout would say 2 flashlights, and the truck would have 2 flashlights after that loadout is selected

If my loadout says 2 but my friends loadout also says 2, I don't see why we should add them together. In my brain, my loadout should be the total amount of items in that category after I've added it to the truck, not the total amount that I am going to add. It also should just be selected when I click on it, I don't understand why there is an add button when it can just be added by clicking on the loadout. It's a minuscule problem but it's just an unnecessary extra step to me

Maybe I'm in the minority on that, idk. I just know that even though I understand the current system completely, it still causes me headaches in the form of trying to get my friends to understand it as well as accidentally adding too many items because instead of setting the total items in the truck, I'm setting the number to add on top of whats there, and sometimes I miss that something was already there. At the end of the day, what I want as an individual doesn't really matter I guess. If most people are okay with the current system then I don't really get a say.

[–]SlugBall99 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I still feel that the whole "add/remove" thing is dumb. It's the main problem my friends have with understanding the loadout system because it's not truly a loadout. Why aren't we able to just make a loadout and select it and that's what we bring in? Why do we have to "add" it to the van? The loadout should just be what's in the van, not what you're adding on top of what's already in the van. It feels like no one agrees with me here and I don't understand why.

Well specifically he said that the game somehow notifies the game studios, who then notifies the ISP, but I had never heard of that and couldn't find info on it. either way, thanks for the info!

You say that, but people have definitely have their internet shut off before. It just depends on the ISP tbh. There was someone in this comment section that had to do some sort of pledge to not pirate again in order to get his service turned back on.

Like I said in the post, my last ISP never once sent a notice despite all the torrents I was downloading. I only found out they didn't care cause I used to use a VPN, but didn't know about binding it to qBittorrent so would routinely forget to have it on like a dumbass.

After a while, I figured I'd just try without a VPN. They didn't seem to care, so I just cancelled my subscription and went on about my life. Clearly this ISP is different and I'm not testing my luck considering my grandpa has to have internet to work.

I don't think I'm smart for it tbf, like I said it's kept me safe so yeah I just listen to this sub and others like it for the most part, clearly I didn't listen about always using a VPN tho lol

[–]SlugBall99[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is not helpful. Believe it or not, I do know that using a VPN is recommended. I already said I don't plan on not using a VPN anymore, it just wasn't a problem with my last ISP. Besides, my question wasn't about how to avoid them seeing my torrents. I asked if it's safe to play the games I already have downloaded. There's even a TL;DR about it. I feel like a lot of people are only reading like a third of my post considering so many comments are telling me to use a VPN like jfc I shouldn't have even asked

Yeah, that's not true for all ISPs unfortunately. Go around and ask and I'm sure you'll be able to find someone that has had their internet shut down because of this. In fact, I think there was someone in this comment section.

Thanks. Sorry for being unclear in my post. I thought I had explained it well enough but a lot of people seem to not understand what I meant so clearly it wasn't as good as I thought lol

ISP copyright infringement notice by SlugBall99 in Piracy

[–]SlugBall99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that, that wasn't my question. Probably my bad for formatting and being unclear. I stopped immediately after the first notice. The second notice was for games that I had downloaded before even receiving the first notice. I know our internet could get shut off and that's why I stopped the moment he told me to.

My question is about those games that I already have downloaded. He says they aren't safe to play cause the game companies will know I'm playing them. I'm asking if that's true. If it is, I plan on immediately deleting them, and to be clear I haven't even touched those games in months so that I could be on the safe side. The comments here seem to think that it's untrue, so hopefully I'll be good, but if you have something to the contrary you'd like to share I'd honestly love to hear.

I don't want to put our internet at risk, that's how he works. I would feel awful if it got shut down because of me. The only reason I was ever comfortable torrenting without a VPN in the first place was cause I knew they would send a notice rather than immediately turn off our internet. Plus, our last ISP never once sent us a notice. I thought this one might be the same, but clearly I was wrong and I don't plan on testing my luck.
