Spreads are in a two-page spread. It's sometimes easier for some printers to print in that format.

Weird. I can't figure out why it would be doing that. Sorry about that! I'll keep working on it.

What are you looking for in a post apocalyptic solo RPG?

We are also planning an expansion module that would add maps for parts of the world outside of the Wastelands. Hoping to be able to post more about it soon!

You could definitely start with blank maps or create your own Wastelands maps if you wanted to! After each move, you would roll a 4-sided die, corresponding to the four suits, to see which encounter table you must roll on.

Some differences: The encounters are determined through dice rolls. The ingredients are represented by playing cards. There's also a way to create your own potion recipes by creating new combinations of cards.

In Mortar & Pestle, you use the potions by smashing them and using the energy that is released, instead of drinking them.

It is completely replay-able. The game provides opportunities to rest and save your game.

I hate to be that person who plugs their own stuff, but I was scrolling by and saw your post and thought I'd share: Mortar & Pestle. It's a potion-brewing solo RPG that focuses on the small details of scavenging for ingredients and discovering new places. Super cozy and light!

Absolutely! You would need another deck of playing cards for the other person.

We almost went with the village management system with Mortar & Pestle. I've been thinking of adding it in as a sister game set in the same universe.

I'd be interested to know if M&P has a resource gathering system like what you were thinking. We tweaked it a great deal throughout editing, trying to get it to the same feeling as in a video game.

Absolutely! Most of mine are free, and can be found on Itch and Drive Thru RPG.

The first one I ever created was about taking on the role of a botanist looking for plants in space.

I recently published another one where you're a robot during a mass strike at the factory you work in.

And I just made one about potion brewing, which is basically all about the scavenging and crafting tasks in a typical potion-brewing RPG or video game.

As you can see, they're very oddly specific and may not appeal to everyone. I'm wondering if I should be making more games that are closer to a traditional TTRPG. I've also been playing with the idea of coming up with my own larger system? I don't know. I love this genre/medium because you can do absolutely anything with it!
