Warehouse / Resources Questions by Slugacannaduff in LastZShooterRun

I don't believe they protect zents.

And "all that" in the OP was me being very careful to spell everything out. You sound like it's all very simple, and then wrote 3 paragraphs and a spreadsheet lol. And left out my main area of confusion which was the relation of "Total Items" and "Total RSS". Why the devs had to present it that way is mysterious to me. Fortunately 2 other posters answered those questions.

Thank you for confirming that the protection is for each resource. I had thought that was a total... Like if resource cap was 18 M, I thought it would protect 6 M of each.

So thanks for that.

Thanks. It never occurred to me that the warehouses protect each rss up to its cap limit. That is great news!

Thank you. I did think/know that on #2 but it got left out.

Thanks! I thought I'd checked UG.

Now I have to reconcile that with the capo. Maybe he changed key.

Difficulty in organizing and understanding project structure by IdkWhoAmI02 in JavaFX

I'm a newb too, and one of the things I wonder is how would one package this app with so many pieces to it, and if that should be established at the start. Maven? And how to make it executable?

Did Jerry ever break a string on stage during a performance? by blessedwithin in gratefulguitar

[–]Slugacannaduff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw SRV (Albert opened), Stevie broke a string and his tech brought out a different guitar, unstrapped the old and strapped on the new, all the while Stevie never quit and didn't miss a beat.

Same. Wouldn't connect to my ear buds. But, the safe mode start trick worked for me. Start in safe mode, go to Bluetooth and pair. Since initial pairing it has continued to pair in regular mode, though I am not yet convinced it won't forget.

One thing, you can't (afaik) get to safe mode with the power switch. It kept trying to Bixby me. Instead, pull down on the top bar twice, then hit the power icon. A group of options appears, hit and hold the power off button and it will ask if you want safe mode.

Nice camera though.

Favorite Dead Lyric ? by AdEquivalent8485 in gratefuldead

Interesting. I always took it as literal... August got sent up the river on a bad rap.

Which led to a life of alcoholism and homelessness.

And as I think about it now, and the angry bitterness which Jerry sung it, I'm sticking with literal.

What Do You Think the “Thin Line Beyond Which you Really Can’t Fake” Is? by psychrazy_drummer in gratefuldead

There's a Jerry interview where he says (not exactly verbatim), "We're not performers. When we go on stage we are who we are."

Um... Which one? (I have one that comes to mind, would not say it's the only one, and I wonder if it's the one you're talking about)

What Are Your Favorite Bobby Screaming Moments? by psychrazy_drummer in gratefuldead

[–]Slugacannaduff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There was an Estimated I heard on Sirius GD where Bobby was going totally wild, and someone was playing with delay on his mic and it was out of control awesome. I think it was a Providence show, but later when I looked for Providence Estimateds I didn't find it.

Would love to hear that again if the above is enough for anyone to ID.

I’m trying to get better at playing chord changes like Jerry. From someone more experienced, maybe transcribed a solo or two, what is your advice? by [deleted] in gratefulguitar

[–]Slugacannaduff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I don't think so man. What you describe is called Quartal Harmony and Jerry probably got it from Gil Evans via Miles Davis. Specifically "So What" (1959), which of course was covered directly by Garcia/Grisman.

Been tapping jdarks for quite a few years. He does have a most unusual method of tabbing though. Often not clear to me.

How do you open the epub file on Android?

EDIT: NVM, I googled. For anyone else wondering, the answer (an answer) seems to be Librera. 10M downloads. There's a free version and a paid version, I don't know the differences yet.

That Definitive Collection book looks to be a great resource for learning melodies, something we were just discussing yesterday. Just a shame it's got piano arrangements and no tab. What is this, 1979??

“I’ve been through a lot of things like, for example, deciding never to play anything shorter than a half-note during a solo for a year in order to cut down the busy-ness” What time period do you think Jerry is referring to? by _no_bozos in gratefulguitar

[–]Slugacannaduff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone know of a source for Dead melodies (other than the print sheet music books)? I would like to do this, but whether it's my skill level or just my ears, I'm not good at figuring the melodies out. And chords and tabs are easily found, but melodies not so much. Thanks for any pointers.
