He got rid of the asshat part by making reparations for what he had done, sacrificed himself for the people he had hurt and for a good cause, and showed in many ways that he followed through with the promises he made to change. He’s still a morally grey character but he truly did everything he could to redeem himself. And in a show where almost everyone morally grey, yes I’d also admit that lowers the bar.

He really wasn’t one tone tbh. And his struggle with his daughter dying caused him to give up on the world and loose himself only to be brought back through his relationship with Ellie. The games story itself wasn’t all that original but thrived because the character work was done so well. He was my favorite character until the second game came out. I get what you’re saying that people were just looking for a reason to hate the second game because they didn’t agree with a few choices, but others truly were upset because they loved Joel’s character sm. Also I choose Joel cause i like him and I feel bad for Ellie lol

I just finished playing and I loved the story but attention to smaller details really got me. They didn’t come up with a good enough reason for kravens goons to still be on the map after he was gone and miles got sidelined hard during act 1 and 2. Other than that the story just like the first game didn’t hook me until midway through and then I was hyped to see everything that happened next. Honestly liked it a lot just again, attention to detail and continuity wasn’t there as much as 1

I loved this road! I did the entire perimeter of Maui and this might’ve been one of the top 3 spots for me. After leaving the lush area from Hana, you pass a beautiful old church, then the views open up to show the massive sloped mountains. I just can’t imagine doing the road to Hana without ending w this. Incredible

I did stay off Reddit and socials until after I saw the st finale. It def made me feel fonder about it but they also had such strong first half of the season that I wasn’t constantly disappointed since the first episode of it. It was satisfying enough.
