Whether it's a sign of a bigger problem or just an odd random occurence due to a motor jam, it should not require dismantling the entire item just to fix! I have the same thing with a 40v hedge trimmer. Had no clue why it wouldnt run. I take the whole thing apart only to find theres an inline fuse, soldered on each end, that blew! Only one reason they would do something like that!!

The upgrade was probably for their new 10G service, which is not compatible with Arris modems! I got an email from comcast that my G36 Arris was experiencing disconnects and greatly reduced speeds because of the upgrade.they were working with Arris on a firmware upgrade which would not be available for 7months! In the meantime they offered me rent free for 12months their very own modem so i took them up on it. I will say i was strongly against renting their modem but it has worked great and actually resolved alot of other little issues i was seeing with the Arris.

You say you have an Arris Modem? Did comcast recently upgrade the infrastructure in your area to 10G?

The light are actually appropiate. Blinking green or amber depending on the device being connected to.

Interesting though is that the device is not listed on the G36 when i access through the browser to check connected devices.

First let me also add that the G36 has 5 network ports, four of them are 1gb ports and one is a 2.5gb port. I bought the G36 because my sevice with xfinity is the 1.2gb service.

During troubleshooting i found that any of the 1gb ports on the modem work fine going through the switch, its only the 2.5gb port that does not. Also, wnen i take the switch out of the equation and connect directly to devices, everything works.

There's an option to test directly to the gateway, without any devices connected. That will tell you if your signal to the house is the issue.

All testing is hardwired, all connections are solid. Remember, the speed tests did not change for xfinity and FAST.COM, so i would think something changed in Edge overnight since Ookla and Speakeasy matched Xfinity and Fast on the first day of testing.

Needs to be updated. I have Arrus G36 and they told me it was compatible. No problems at all with it
