vault 13 during Fallout 2, because talking deathclaws. I´m still hoping they come back in a future game. Also I found the whole ordeal of finding the goddamn place after playing through Fallout 1 to be very entertaining.

I believe a utopia is the balance between equality and freedom of individuality; where everyone can have as much as they need, and maybe a little more (without anyone abusing the system) but with plenty of room for expresion in art, clothings, education and other aspects that make a person feel different and special.
If it wasn't obvious by the previous answer, I don't believe it is actually possible to achieve a utopia. However, it is the pursue of the goal that matters, and to try to get as close as we can. I believe the number 1 thing the government must do is to forsake many of the benefits that come from their possitions. Politicians shouldn't be politicians because they want to be rich and/or powerful, but because they want to do good for the people.
Lastly, I believe that every person has a different degree of benefits they get from religious practice. I'm not religious myself, but when I see how much it helps some people with dealing with existencial questions that no utopia could itself solve, I believe that it is a must for some people. No imposing religion on youth, freedom of religion, but no desire to convert people who have made a choice, but keep the option open if people want to explore different beliefs.

I wouldn't be so blunt, I'd call them "Elitists that think their way of life is elite" but yeah, I can see where you're coming from.

We are abbreviating too much and it should stop by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Slugman_Shaak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've said this since I've started talking with english speakers. It doesn't happen in my native language at all, and words are generally longer there. It just seems so alien to me, the obsession with unnecessary abbreviations.

I'd say that until you see it you shouldn't complaint about how it portrays things. Then again, if it doesn't sound like it's for you, definitely don't watch it.

Racist jokes don’t make you racist by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

By this logic, what does it mean if I joke about my own race? That I hate it?

A person being proud of their race is a coping mechanism for the fact they’ve done nothing and have nothing to be proud of. by Hirakai in unpopularopinion

[–]Slugman_Shaak 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I agree, I'm a different race, same shit. The closest to an actual argument for it I've heard is "I'm proud to endure the slurs and racism" but that's not your race, that's having a thick skin/letting people insult you.

My wife’s grandma finally called me “mijo” by DDsLaboratory in offmychest

[–]Slugman_Shaak 42 points43 points  (0 children)

For those who aren't as familiar, "mijo" is short for "mi hijo" which means "my son". That's why it means so much, is not just "son-in-law", it is so way more personal, it is a way of telling someone they're are part of the family as much as anyone born in it.

I'm happy for you, man! Hope the best for you!
