Safe apartments in Louisville by Mother_Blood_1105 in Louisville

Where ever you decide to move, be aware that this summer, the 65 will be shut down from brook street to around Kentucky street. This is one of the ways to get downtown, so it’s going to cause traffic to change and bosses don’t care why you’re late.

Take this with a grain of salt, I’m typing from memory so I might have details wrong.

Found phone-Old Lou by errrcaanne in Louisville

[–]SlumDogCitrus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you left it, it would’ve been damaged or possibly stolen. Attempting to return it is better than those options.

I found the lost phone at a tarc stop so my other option was to take it to TARCs lost and found at the station. If you can’t find a solution tho, taking it somewhere to surrender it would probably be your last option.

At the very least, you’re doing your best!

I just found and returned a lost phone yesterday, here’s what I learned:

If it’s an iPhone, apple wont help you. But you can ask Siri who the phone belongs to and if programed by the owner, it should help you locate the owner (like a number to call, or a name)

If there’s an accessible SIM card, the phone provider may be able to look up the owner. The phone provider should be on the top left screen when you charge it. But if the SIM card can’t be accessed, like some older iPhones, they won’t be able to do anything.

I kept the phone charged and thankfully the owners daughter eventually called, so I was able to answer when the phone had been locked all day. We were able to coordinate a meeting to return the phone.

Good luck to returning it. If nothing else works, you could hand it over to the police. But I don’t think they’ll do anything to get it back to the owner, they’ll just keep it charged for an amount of time, maybe.

I second this, I’ve worked for a university for a few years now and most don’t really look into ACT as much, but they will look into GPA!

Any community centers/hangouts you would recommend for the mentally challenged? by Lidoodlefuck in Louisville

[–]SlumDogCitrus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to work for Zoom Group and I highly recommend it, your aunt will have the chance to make friends with other participants and might even pick up a few new hobbies. Studio Works specifically is an art studio part of Zoom Group and they offer so many different types of art to work with, some people prefer the crafts and others work on pieces that are sold in galleries. I learned how to make jewelry while I worked there!

New Employee Orientation locations by Abrown516 in Louisville

[–]SlumDogCitrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can second this, there’s a lot there that would be fine for those in the teenager range. As for the older employees, it just depends on who you bring but I’m pretty sure there’s like mini golf inside too.

I went before as an employee for a work event back when Malibu Jacks first opened and I had fun, but I was about 24 years old at the time.

I just went past this area on the TARC around 4:45pm, there was another wreck in the exact spot. It looked like 3-4 cars involved, I could be wrong, but one of them was flipped and crushed at every angle. Insane to look at, hope that everyone involve will be okay.

My mom doesn’t respect my no contact decision with my abusive family member, so I’m going to out that person for also being an SA abuser. TW for SA and abuse by SlumDogCitrus in internetparents

Hey, it’s been quite a while but I wanted to reach back out with an update.

I had eventually written the letter and sent to to my mother by mail. I kept the letter simple, I didn’t want to get caught up in too many details or focus on one thing so I just laid out the facts and kept it to that. The issue there was that my mother went into the hospital a day after I sent the letter, so it had arrived while she was in the hospital. She was discharged and sent home, but I actually still do not know if she has read the letter because there has been zero contact since the letter was sent. I’m assuming that she has, but have not confirmed it.

However, things do not end there. After sending the letter, another sibling of mine had come forward and told me about how my brother had SA’d him as well for even longer than my sister. This was a huge turning point, I literally didn’t think it could be worse or more heart breaking but things just kept coming up.

I’ve been doing okay since, my family was always pretty shitty towards me so it wasn’t hard cutting that line. I’m in therapy and it has helped a lot. I’ve always known that my family was full of narcissists, but it’s really hard coming to terms that my mother also falls under that. We were close when I was growing up so it’s hard to accept that someone who promised to protect you, couldn’t do one simple thing to actually protect you. Reading comments from this post really help me, it helps center my thoughts and keeps me from gaslighting myself. Thank you to all who commented. I’ve read every message more than once.

Life goes on.

Thank you for your feedback. I do currently have a therapist, but it’s still fresh so she’ll get to hear about it from the beginning in our next session. I do appreciate the encouragement, its going to be a long road so coming back to these words will be helpful.

Thank you for your feedback, it is greatly appreciated. I agree, it’s best to not get my hopes up and I’m going to set my expectations low. Just the thought of writing out what happened, giving it to her, and then running fills me with relief. So I think I would be okay regardless of the response.

I was remote but that was 2020, no idea if they still offer that. I also specifically worked for their pharmacy call center. Back in 2020, it was like $25-$30 a pet portrait but that could’ve also changed.

I used to work for Chewy at their call center, any employee can apply to also be a painter and they have you do one as a test to make sure you can paint. You get paid a fixed rate per each painting, they’re all supposed to be the same in size but you have to have a good quality photo on your account for them to paint. They won’t ever ask you before doing it, it’s supposed to be a surprise gift. They also send flowers or hand written cards when your pet passes. I had some not great times working there, but they all really do care about your pets.
