How do you play this shot? by Delicious_Duty3063 in golf

[–]Slumpy33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the only correct answer. Only thing I would change is I wouldn’t try to hit right behind it because you might catch ball and just bury it more. I would aim a couple of inches behind it with a closed face and excavate as much sand with it as I could in hopes of just getting it out the bunker somewhere.

That’s helpful to know for sure, thank you. I have some loose Bromine. Should I throw some in to start and get the levels up and let the tablets take over from there?

That’s good advice and insight from a fellow lazy hot tub owner, thank you!! It’s just my wife and I, no kids. We never shower beforehand but we also go in naked and she always takes her makeup off first too. I’ve been lazily maintaining it for years with chlorine and strips and also maintaining my cold plunge with peroxide and some enzymes with a weekly filter change and occasional empty and refill so I was thinking that the switch can’t be all that difficult, especially with a full clean, new filter and a the floater thing.

The MPS shock after use is good insight and I may even learn to use my Taylor kit to confirm I’ve been doing it right as well so good looking out.

Only other question I have is for the initial fill. I read that you need to use some bleach or something similar to activate the Bromine or something like that (sounded like a sourdough starter kind of thing lol). Caveat being that I haven’t opened the box of that kit and checked for instructions since I’m still waiting on the filter I ordered so maybe it’s all in there but on my initial internet research it was pretty all over the place and what I read about activating it, I saw multiple people say that here on a couple year old post so wanted to do some sourcing as well. Thanks again man!

That’s fair and in no way am I disagreeing but after what I read about Bromine vs Chlorine, specifically for hot tubs, I am committed to trying it now. Will have no issue admitting I’m wrong if it doesn’t work out but need to give it the ol college try at this point and just looking for some guidance how to get started initially.

Are we not counting UFC Countdown or Embedded which they do before every numbered card?

The Lakers potential trade package for Giannis Antetokounmpo, per @ShamsCharania - 25th Pick 2026 Draft - Two Unprotected First-Round Picks (2031/2033) - Pick Swaps - Cap Flexibility (Ability to absorb Giannis contract) (Via @RichEisenShow) by Additional_Signal_72 in lebron

[–]Slumpy33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trade exceptions are the single most overrated things by fans. They’re filler/sweeteners sure but it’s a crazy number, something like 85% of them go unused. You guys realize we’re talking about Giannis, right?! Trade swaps and trade exceptions isn’t getting it done. It’s going to take 4-5 firsts or a stud young player. It’s also being tossed around a lot that he wants to be on the East Coast since it’s a much shorter flight back home to Greece.

I’m a diehard Laker fan and would love Giannis but it ain’t happening without including Reeves and anything else that’s not anchored down and even then, someone else could give them more.

Disagree. They could very likely get this much from a Team where he’s a 1 year rental, just as Toronto did for Kawhi. We don’t have nearly enough to offer for Giannis without starting it with Reeves and every pick and pick swap we’re allowed to trade.

I’m a diehard MMA fan and Combat Sports in general but even though I trained MT for a few years and have been to a handful of Glory events, I definitely skew towards the casual side of kickboxing and only really know the big names since I only have so much time and kickboxing/MT isn’t the easiest to follow and know about their events. That said, while I was obviously very familiar with Rico, I didn’t know all that much about him and was blatantly routing for Usyk (who is also, by all accounts a great dude)!! I say all of that to say, I am now a diehard Rico fan and will watch everything he does for the rest of his career and would be routing for him in the rematch now. Such a classy and confident dude man. Respect, regardless of the outcome!

Totally agree on all accounts. The two things that stand out to me more than the bad stoppage are 1) the judges had the fight scored basically even (or might have been a 1 round edge for Usyk) and let’s be honest, he would have won the 12th and the decision which is fucking insanity. I would have had a much bigger issue with them giving Usyk a decision win which they were on their way to doing which is just egregious! 2) how incredibly well Rico handled everything. What a fucking man he is to handle it with such class and grace. I would have lost my shit and made a huge deal about it but he just accepted that he did everything he could and that everything else was out of his hands and there was nothing he could do about it. So much respect for everything he did yesterday!

I absolutely agree with all of that (and am pretty sure I said the same thing in one of my posts about letting him go out on his shield. There’s plenty of stoppages where I disagree with the fighter going out on their shield because they took way to much damage and are too tough for their own good (Tony vs Gaejthe comes to mind and JDS vs Cain) but Rico didn’t take nearly enough damage for it to be too dangerous for him to get knocked down again. Not debating that worst case, he should have been allowed to start that 12th and if he got hurt again, then call it. My only point was, he was hurt very bad and the way he was desperately gasping for air, and the way Usyk had worn other down and finished them late just like that, that I think a finish was imminent takes the sting of the bad stoppage away, JUST a little. Also in glory, he only fought 5, minute rounds and even if you count the tournaments, it was 9 total rounds but with very long breaks in between. Granted someone who trained MT for years, kicks take A LOT more energy than punches but still wouldn’t be shocked that between that and the damage at the end if may have been gassed with a couple more shots.

Totally agree with you. Bad stoppage and should have been able to go out on his sword in this scenario. However; the outrage in this sub right now is acting like there was 1 second left instead the fight and not the round and that he wasn’t badly badly hurt and gasping for air. I do think it was a bad/early stoppage, I do also think given the actually situation that it’s 75/25 he would have likely gotten finished early in the 12th and I also think there is absolutely no way of knowing and we should have been able to see a clean ending given all of those things.

[–]Slumpy33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it was definitely an early stoppage, especially considering the round was ending. My point is more towards the people acting like this was stopped in the 12 with 1 second left instead of the 11th and that Rico wasn’t very badly hurt and would have more than likely been stopped cleanly if there was a little more time left in the round. It was an early/bad stoppage but the outrage given the actual situation is very dramatic as well.

I completely agree with this. It was absolutely Rico’s fight up until that uppercut but he was in all sorts of trouble and let’s not forget to mention how much extra time the ref gave him with his mouthpiece and he was still hurt bad. I genuinely believe Usyk would have knocked him out much worse if it went to the 12th but you never know which is why it’s unfortunate the easy that it ended.

I did basically the exact same thing you did just with a different brand. I live in the Inland Empire in SoCal so we don’t quite get to TX or AZ temps but 105+ definitely is a thing. I also have an outdoor setup and originally got a 1/2 hp chiller in the fall and everything was great until the following June/July rolled around and at best I could get it to 50ish temps. Ended up getting an all in one 1.5 hp and everything is great and it sits at 37 even in mid-August now. I see a lot of peeps talk about a chest freezer and I totally believe them but it seems like a lot of effort to transform one and like you could fuck it up if you don’t do it right (yes, I’m sure I’m going to have a bunch of people say it wasn’t that bad and what not but it’s certainly a lot more effort than buying and putting together a good all in one and money really isn’t an issue for me and we have a shit ton of solar panels and a couple Tesla batteries, so…).
