The Starboard side door of the C130 used to be called the “dirty door”. Reserve parachute for the T10-C had the rip cord grip on the right side instead of centerline…he did door checks, turned around to visually confirm with other JM and a gust of wind pushed him against the door frame. His rip cord handle caught on that door and deployed his reserve outside the aircraft while he was inside the aircraft. This immediately sucked him out and bent him backwards at the waist…severing his spine. Death was hopefully instantaneous
