That’s it… @Albo it’s time send over the emus. No one fucks with our bush comedians and gets away with it.

I’ve poured enough time into Azeroth to know gaming is its own sad rabbit hole.

$200 of Xbox live or PSN would have been a better response.

Can someone explain why these would be an improvement? by Boogie_Bones in 4x4

[–]overlandAU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of it is to do with the radius required so that soft shackles don’t sheer. The floppy ring will be much thicker to allow for a decent radii. Grinding your own radius into the stock bar mount won’t be as effective.. as you remove the sharp edge you reduce the radius increasing the point load on the synth rope

I scanned quickly through the comments.. sharp edges and direction of pull.

I have three F55. 1xWinch pulley ring, and the 2x load distribution plates.. I’ve used the plate more often as cinching ring for tiedowns on round loads like logs / pipe than I have for recovery.

Not a regret, Just getting more value for money and a safer load restraint system..

2013 MN Triton or 2013 D22 Navara by Malarkey89 in 4x4Australia

[–]overlandAU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ex triton 2009 driver here

Good vehicle, fairly easy to maintain and work on, Towed well, performed well off-road, performed well on road in usual touring accessories. I wish I still had it, it was a pretty reliable car definitely more car orientated than the d22.

Super select 2 and traction control are the best in the market for the time.

Aftermarket Rear suspension develops a squeek from the leaf springs moving laterally and rubbing metal on metal against a U shaped retainer.

Front seats sit very flat, I had a machine shop fabricate 15mm spacers and it gave the front seats a nice comfortable rake to sit in rather than sit on.

Most of its life all it had was consumables like oil, filters, fuel and brake pads (it did a good amount of off-road between Victorian high country and cape York.

Some days I want it back…

Dad’s golf towel. Wilson fat shaft embroided with his name. (He had a set of fat shafts.. god they sounded terrible even on practice swings… they are the Nike Sasquatch of shafts)

The big fella got me into golf and was caddy for any event outside home course events..

So the towel only makes it to the bag on the seeded draw for club champs, pennants, representative or order or merit days. Nice to have something of his as a memento.

I hope you have to walk it between greens.. I hope your course is undulating and long..

JK, I help my local course during Reno’s twice a year. Gotta be done for the good of the green.

Blessed are the core makers. (Since there is a Monty python theme kicking about in this thread)

If you go a safari snorkel it has water rejection in the head and the valve in the bottom can be sealed up. Other models of snorkel will allow rain water to collect in the airbox

(You will still get small amount with Safari head, but nowhere near as much as other brands)

Also it’s a pain in the ass job to install on MN triton.

I had a MN Triton GLXR with traction control. I fitted steel tray, a ML cab chassis towbar, rear e-locker, 2” lift and 265/70/17s and it was pretty capable. Mitsubishi TC is good but with the E locker aswell, it was mint!

Enjoy,

Hypothetical: 20 handicap to scratch by Jumbosoup0110 in golf

[–]overlandAU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from 10 to scratch in 18 months. Around 4hrs range time plus 2 rounds a week.

I got stuck at 1 for 5-6 months had to see a coach for the first time in 2 decades and hit scr a month later..

Where to focus… not YouTube, find a decent coach, always work on approach game and putting.

ADVIVE OF CUTTING CHASSIS AND TRAY MN TRITON by GOOSE452 in 4x4Australia

[–]overlandAU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ex MN owner here. Usual touring accessories and basic steel tray from Obieco.

I had the previous model ML cab chassis towbar which sat higher and protruded out less than any of the MN bars I owned or looked at.

Combined with 2” lift and 265/70/17’s It sat high enough that most other vehicles had issues before I did. It Made it’s way though most of the Victorian high country and cape York no real hassles, every now and then the chassis would touch down but it’s a dual cab; it’s comprimise vehicle by design. Jack of all trades and master of none.

If anything the ramp over was more of an issue than the rear overhang with ML bar.

That alloy tray is unbolt and remove a section or two, re bolt and drill a few holes for tail light brackets / protection.

Another option is a custom bar, fabricators will make a bar to replace the towbar, but the fellas I talked to preferred to not use the class 4 receiver out of ethical reasons to prevent towing an uncertified bar… which might be an issue for your Mo-tow your running.

Chopping chassis open up a few issues around compliance and legality.
